Wow! I just got Diary Dog of the Day! Again, how cool is that?? I am quite the celebrity now. I can't wait to tell my Aussie sister, Shelby. She will be soooo jealous.
I just came in from the barn. We have about 14" of snow on the ground. Mom has been double layering me with coates when we go to the barn because it is also very cold out there. I am so excited to go out in the morning that I sometimes find it hard to sit still while I get all my coates on! I do have to tell you that I have busted my behind a few times as I race around in the snow. There are some really slick spots out there! But I love running in the snow. But I am sure ready to come back in by the time Mom & Dad have all the barn chores done.
Tomorrow will be a bad day for me. My Mom has been off work most of the month of Dec with me. I will be really sad when both her & Dad go off to work in the morning & I am home alone all day. :-(
Wishing everyone an even better year in 2013.

First of all I want to thank the Dogster folks for selecting me as "dog of the day". Now that's pretty cool!
It has been quite some time since my Mom has updated my diary. She keeps my Aussie sister, Shelby, diary updated but seems to forget mine. Now, please don't think my Mom neglects me because I am the "princess" of the house & quite the spoiled pooch. Mom says I have more clothes than she does, but she is always bringing me home a new coat. I am very cold natured & always wear a coat when going outside, especially to the barn. I even have a fuzzy hat I have been known to wear to the barn when it is really cold. Oh, I love going to the barn because after Mom & Dad bring the horses in for the night, us dogs get to run & run & run in the horse pasture. Of course, I am the fastest of all.
Well, just to catch my doggie pals up on my activities, we had a great summer camping at the horse park with the horses. While Mom & Dad are out riding, Mom always gives me & Shelby a big yummy bone to keep us busy. We have to stay in the back of the camper trailer while they are gone, but we don't mind with our bones to chew on. I even have my own chair for camping. I think Mom might have posted a picture of me in it. I also attended one of the Weim Rescue events in Indianapolis, where I met a lot of other cool Weims. I especially liked one named Lucas. I was adopted from the Weim Rescue of Louisville about 5 yrs ago. I know I am adopted but that's ok, because I have a great life now & love my Mom & Dad. I also have spent a lot of time riding around with my Dad in the Ranger. I think Mom posted a picture of me doing that as well. No matter where I am or what I am doing, if I hear the Ranger start up, I am on my way to get in it. I can jump in the back with no problem at all!
Mom has promised to keep my diary more up-to-date & I will help remind her. Bark at you all later.........Wren

Hi Everyone! Well, I have been pretty busy this past week. Our Mom had surgery so it was just me & Dad running things for a few days. When Mom got home from the hospital, I took it upon myself to be her nurse. (someone had to do it) She would get lonesome in the house by herself so I stayed with her & took naps with her on the couch. Yea, it was a tough job but somebody had to do it. Yea, it was a busy week of napping on the sofa so I could watch over our Mom. :-) We missed one of our agility classes while Mom was getting better. We all went to class last night. I just couldn't stay focused & kept wanting to go visit with my classmates. Geeze! I hadn't seen them for almost two weeks! I wanted to play, play, play! Dad would call me back to the course, but I think he was getting very frustrated with me. I just couldn't help myself. :-) I love to play with other dogs. Mom told Dad I hadn't gotten enough exercise the past week & was 'full of myself'. So, she took me & my Aussie sister, Shelby, for a walk in the fields & back to watch Dad burn brush. It was great to get out & run & run. Me & Shelby caught a field mouse. That was pretty cool! Well, actually Shelby caught it, but she did let me carry it around for awhile until Dad pitched it in the fire. Mom teased Dad about the non-hunter Aussie catching the mouse & not me--the hunting dog. Heck, how did I know that mouse wouldn't bite me. I am a 'princess' you know! Well, Mom has my baked chicken breasts ready for me so I have to go.
Bark at you later..........Wren

Hi Everybody! I was adopted from the Louisville Weim Rescue last Feb 2008. I love my new home & life as I am treated like the Princess I truly am. I love all people, I love all dogs, I even like cats. Heck I just LOVE life! Mom says I am always happy. I am actually Dad's dog & love to be with him as much as possible. But I like my Mom almost as much when Dad isn't around. To catch you up on the past year, I am now in good weight (I was very, very thin when I got to the rescue). My family now consists of my Mom & Dad, me of course, an Aussie named Shelby & a hound dog (he was a stray & rescued too) named Louie. We live in the country so I get to go running in the fields & woods a couple of times a week & get to run in the horse pasture every night after the horses are brought in. Mom & Dad have horses so we go camping with the horses a lot in the summer. That was a new experience for me, but after a few times out I fell right into the swing of things. I am good & don't bark at horses that ride by, but me & my Aussie sister have to stay in our crates while Mom & Dad are out riding. It's not too bad though because our Mom always gives us a yummy new bone each time to keep us busy while they are out riding. I especially love the hot dogs & hamburgers while we are camping. Hmmmm...........
I am in my 2nd session of agility classes with my Aussie sister. I especially love to do the weave poles. I am quite fast, if I say so myself. Mom says I jump like a gazelle. :-) Dad doesnt' plan to compete me, but thought it would be fun for me to do. We have a lot of the agility stuff at home as well so we practice a lot at home. It sure wears a girl out as there is a lot of thinking & running involved. The running isn't the problem it's the thinking that makes me so sleepy. But my Dad thinks the direction is good for me. :-) Well, that brings you uptodate with me today.
