Max finally chewed two things that were worth some money. Saw that one coming.

We went for a jog this morning and had a pretty good time in the Park, though, so hopefully he'll sleep most of the day instead of hunting around for tasty cords and dvds.

Max LOVES other dogs

The vet said he was okay to socialize at our check-up last night, so this morning we went to Patterson Park for an hour. Max got to sniff two big dogs, two medium-sized dogs, and a small dog. I think he's a little afraid of small dogs, and really afraid of them when they're wearing sweaters!! He had a FANTASTIC time and I've never seen him happier than when he's hanging with other woofers, so I'm hoping we can make it to the dog park this weekend :)

Not the worst, but bad enough!

Max is 2-3 years old and housebreaking is proving to be tricker than it should be.

He has conquered his fear of the stairs and we're working on his fear of cars. He finally jumped in the car after about 15 minutes, and after I may have implied that he could eat the entire bag of treats. I don't think he minded that he only got one, because it looked pretty tasty.

Sadly, Max is learning from our Devil Cat (aka Isis). This comes in handy for his crate training, but it's obnoxious when they both start chewing on my few remaining houseplants.

I still wonder "what's he chewing on now?" while I'm sitting at my desk at work.

He's getting worse on a leash because I had to start using a harness due to his kennel cough. He has started pulling more with the harness on and he is increasingly insistent about sniffing exactly what he wants to sniff.

We interviewed one trainer last weekend that I didn't love, but I'm going to keep looking for the right one! I did speak to a friend-of-a-friend dog guru last night and he inspired me to stick it out with Max, so we're going to keep looking for the right trainer and keep trying to help Max become a part of the family.
