She does not like other dogs or cats AND she does not like being homeless

Favorite Toy:
She will play with anything you give her. She does love to play fetch and balls.

Favorite Food:
She loves leftovers, especially turkey and hamburg.

Favorite Walk:
Zoe loves to go to an enclosed ball park to run and play in Warwick, RI

Best Tricks:
Zoe has many tricks up her paws!

Arrival Story:
She was found at a local truck stop with over 100 ticks embedded into her small body. She was emaciated and dehydrated. She needed to go to the vets for treatment. She got better fast and once she was well, Zoe was spayed. She is now awaiting her forever home in a local shelter. I go work with her (teach her basic obedience lessons about 3 times per week) She is very smart, sweet and soooooo and deserving of a new leash on life. The family however, needs to be experienced to the breed as Zoe does not like other dogs and or cats. New England area adoptions only. Please contact Susan at MyPetTherapyDogs@yahoo.com for all the adoption details.

Zoe is awaiting her forever home. She is a little charmer and is very deserving of a new home. Please open your heart to little Zoe. Addendum: Sadly on June 20th 2005. The hard decission was made to put little Zoe to rest. She had been in a shelter for over one year. She had been adopted last summer but the mean old grandfather who owned the home refused to let a "Pit Bull" live on his property. Poor Zoe had to go back to the shelter to live out her life. She did not like other animals and her placement was extremily hard. She was going kennel crazy. She had a wonderful shelter staff that adored her. Even still, it was no life for Zoe baby girl. Our hopes are that she is finally at peace romping with her friends in Rainbow Bridge. We love you Zoe and gave it our all to help you. You will be Sadly missed, LOVE Sue and the staff at the Shelter. Please visit Dynamic Dog Training Services obedience training website at www.Dynamicdts.com

Twas the night before Christmas and the shelter is dark,
The whole place is silent, not even a bark.
The dogs are all locked in their pens for the night,
The staff has gone home and turned out the light.
As I lay my head on the cold concrete floor,
I fondly recall the home I had before.
The family I loved who loved me right back,
We'd share everything from a secret to snack.
Things couldn't be better at this time last year,
But that has all changed and now I am here.
I won't see the tree, the lights or the snow,
I'm scared and alone, my spirits are low.
The others like me weren't put up for adoption,
A new family and home, for us aren't an option.
We've been locked up in cells as if we're all crooks,
We don't deserve homes because of our looks.
Not Diesel, or Bingo or the young one named Percy,
Deserve to be loved nor shown any mercy.
While families celebrate holiday cheer,
I know in my heart that my end is near.
The vet will arrive, the lights will go on,
By the time you awake, we all will be gone.
A stranger will come and take me away,
I'll never awake to see another day.
As I close my eyes I'll shed you a tear,
The fond memories I'll always keep near.
The only thing I've ever asked of Santa Claus,
Is to stop all these unfair, ridiculous laws.
You said without me, your life was not full,
So why does it matter that I'm a "pitbull"?.

In my dream Santa shouts when he's finished his deed,

For all rescue peopel!

Well Zoe, don't worry, many of us are still working on finding the perfect home for you.
Like many before you, we are going to make sure when you finally go to your forever home it will be a wonderful home. I just wanted to post this entry into Zoe's Diary for all people who have dogs for adoption.
As everyone already knows, please make sure to screen All APPLICANTS carefully. Make sure pre/post home checks are done!!!
Call the person inquiring about adoption vet's office to make sure all their animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on their shots. If it is an out of state adoption, call the person's animal control officer in their town/city and ask if the person has ever been in trouble with them in the past.
This is soooooo IMPORTANT!
We all want to make sure our babies go to great FOREVER HOMES!
Taking a little time and completing these simple tasks can help us sleep easier at night knowing that our animals are placed in great homes because we care!
Happy Holidays!
