Arrival Story:
Marshmallow lived with my uncle, his wife, and their daughter for her first 7 1/2 years. My cousin left for college and my uncle and his wife divorced. My uncle was left with Marshmallow and he just didn't have the time to devote to her. He felt it would be best for her to find a new home instead of being left in the bathroom all day while he was on his long shifts at work. 600 miles away, my family was considering a bichon, but really not seriously until our youngest was at least 2 (potty trained) Just about the time Hannah turned 2, we got a call from my mom telling us that my uncle was looking for a new home for Marshmallow. Yep, I think it was meant to be! :o) We have a teenage daughter that must remind Marsh of my cousin, because that is who she shadows if she is not by me. She also likes to nap on my husband, she says he's a really good snuggle buddy. :0) Marshmallow has fully incorporated herself into not only our lives, but our hearts, so thoroughly that I just can't imagine life without her now.

When Marshmallow came to us she was still recovering from a recent ACL surgery on her back leg. She had jumped off of a tall bed and completely tore the ligament. They replaced her knee cap and did all sorts of repairs that I'm still completely clueless about. She's all better now, her surgery was about 3/4 of a year ago. She's a real trooper. :0) The absolute hardest part of her recovery was keeping her from blitzing! Once she started feeling better we still had to keep her calm. It was such a happy day when the vet gave us the okay to let her go full speed again! WooHoo!
