Quick Bio:
-purebred-dog rescue

Birthday:
September 11th 2000

Likes:
Lounge around and collect any and everything. Especially the stuffed animal squeak toys.

Pet-Peeves:
Unfamiliar situations. He likes to know what he's suppose to do.

Favorite Toy:
A hedgehog stuffy. He cuddles with it. He does love to collect all the stuffies and pile them in his bed.

Favorite Food:
Basties, thats what I call them. They're bite sized dog cookies that are basted in an oven.

Favorite Walk:
He just likes to go, anywhere is fine with him.

Best Tricks:
Stealing your heart, he has dark eyes that just make you melt. He's great at getting love and attention by nuzzling you or giving you the eyes.

Arrival Story:
Ace was my fifth foster for Greyhounds & Love. We'd had 4 other Greyhound fosters come and go and get adopted into their forever homes and weren't planning to take a fifth yet since the holidays were upon us and I was pregnant. We went to the board meeting and learned of nearly 20 dogs needing foster homes at our kennel so we talked it over and decided to take in another foster. We drove to the kennel not knowing anything about this hound except he was cat-safe. With several cats at home that's important. So we met him for the first time at the kennel and brought him home. Little did we know we'd fall head over heals for this hound and that he'd never leave our home. We picked him up around Thanksgiving and officially adopted him in January '05.

Bio:
Ace is coming into character more each day. When he first came to our home as a foster he was reserved and just taking in how things go from day to day. After a little while he began showing his goofy side, playing in the yard and only in the yard. He would collect sticks and branches from the huge hardwood trees and my daughters toys and pile them up. Now he collects the squeak toys from the toy basket and piles them on his bed and tosses them in the air squeaking them. He was also afraid of cats at first but has really done greyt getting to know them and know they're not dangerous.

Lost Greyhound

Can you believe that just the other day a greyhound showed up in our front yard? Yep, my humans let him in the yard with me and we played. It was good to have another hound to play with. My human found his ear tattoos and his real home so he left, and it was good to have my home to myself again. I'm glad he's home again.

I have really gotten comfy at home. Playing, begging and going on trips to the mountains!

Budda Bear passed away recently and its been hard on us all knowing he's gone. He was a little over 10 years old. Ace is doing well and is adjusting to life without Bear better than I thought he would. He actually has a lot more personality by himself than he did with a companion. Rest in peace Budda Bear.

A year has already flown by since I became a permanent member here. Boy it only seems like yesterday when they picked me up at the kennel as a foster. I am one happy boy and love playing with Bear in the yard. I collect all the toys in my crate and sprawl out on them. Life is good!
