Arrival Story:
Fred had been seen roaming the Highway about a quarter of a mile from my home for a couple weeks. He was eating road kill to live. Tried to catch him a couple of times before I finally talked him into not running. One thing in my favor that day was a bone chilling north wind. He was slowly freezing to death. If I hadn't caught him that day he would have froze to death that night. The temperature dropped in the 20"s that night. We got him home and it was noon it took till 8 pm that night for him to stop shivering. The poor thing was skin and bones. He still has some weight to gain. I took him to the vet and she said he was about 4 years old. Other than being malnourished he was in pretty good shape. He has settled in and is now a big part of our family. We still have a lot to learn about each other but I wouldn't trade him for anything.
