Well, it happened again. Grrrr. About 10 days ago we had another run in with a porcupine. See above pic on my page. Most of mine were inside my mouth and it was driving me crazy and I was scratching and trying to rub my nose and now even though they are out my nose is still kind of scaly and bare.
Rambo and Lex got the quills too and we all got a trip to the city to the vet late at night to get them removed. It might have been a fun ride if our noses hadn't been hurting so bad. Mom says we need to learn to leave the porcupines alone but when they come up to the house we just have to protect our territory....you know, you do what's you gots to do.

Well, it's not really a pool, it's the horses water tank, but at least it is water I can get in to cool off on hot days. I really like the creek better, but since Mom hasn't been taking us down there cause things are a little overgrown during the summer, I'm forced to fend for myself. Unlike spoiled little sis Soph, I don't get to swim in the real pool, humph! But I showed them, I figured I could jump in the horse tank and whala... my own pool.
Hey Mom, I think you need to come with the skimmer and some pool chemicals, there's some green mossy stuff growin in here!

Well, at least I was stuck with lots of nasty little needle like quills! Oh it hurt so bad but I was tough and tried not to cry. But I did have to whimper some. Mom tried to tell me to get back but I wanted to prove that I was a good watch dog and the other dogs were all trying to get to it and when Mom pulled some of them away I rushed in and got it right in the kisser. There were quills in my mouth and muzzle and even my nose. Ouch! those in the nose hurt the worst. It was of course after 5 and no local vets were to be found so Mom had to take me all the way to the city to an after hour clinic to get them removed. Didn't take them long and in no time I was all fixed and ready to come home. Mom wonders if I learned anything and will be more leery of rushing in but she doesn't think so cause I am a little hard headed, or at least that is what she says. I think I'm just the way I'm supposed to be. I have a zest for life and no one is going to quench that, not even a nasty porcupine!
