Arrival Story: She's my very first dog for whom I searched endlessly for over a year and yet, in the end, she found me. I emailed a breeder who told me she had a little girl cream and apricot toy poodle puppy she wanted to have a home for Christmas. She was the last remaining puppy of her litter at 3 months old and I knew I wanted her to be my baby! She flew from her old home in New York on December 16, 2003 to become a part of my life in sunny California. She was such a brave little girl and still is and I love her with all my heart! I named her after one of my favorite Beatles songs (and the only girl puppy from the original cartoon 101 Dalmations who was named "Penny") because, like the song, she is so happy and sweet!
Bio: Penny, better known (and indeed, famously known) as "Poopsie," is my best friend and I love her more than anything. She receives the very best of the best in everything owing to the fact that I started working in the upscale pet industry in 2005 and gets the most love, cuddles, hugs, and kisses from everyone in my family. She lives with a 9 year old cat named Mia she likes to call her "sister" and spends her days trying to play with her. She has a standing appointment with the groomer where they love her because she is so well-behaved and trained herself to sit and stay. The hardest part of going away to studying in England for university was leaving Penny at home but now that I have graduated, the fun and love can continue!

it's exactly a week until christmas! i can wait! i'm so excited!
mommy came home! i've been spending so much time with her! i was so happy when she came through the door on saturday that i couldn't stop jumping all over her! she held me and hugged me so tightly for a long, long time and i don't know why but she started crying. i hope she's okay. i watch over her a lot and follow her around to make sure that she's as happy as i am that she's home with me forever.
right now, she's trying to go to sleep because she has to go work at the cookie store early in the morning. i know she's been feeling sick a lot lately so i hope she goes to bed soon. it was her first day back to the shop in a long time because she misses it and getting to play with all the dogs and puppies that come visit her and she had such a good day! i think my mommy has the best job in the ENTIRE WORLD because at her work, she gets all of my favorite cookies in the world! they bake all the treats there and she comes home smelling like the peanut butter hearts and oatmeal softies i love so much! i wonder if she's going to bring home an apple cake for me again. i'll eat it slowly this time because last time, i went too fast and then sat in the middle of the living room for a long time because it was too much for me to handle, hee hee!
they sell other things at the cookie store like sweaters and clothes and rudolph ears and rhinestone collars and everything but i like the cookies the best.
this is my new sweater for christmas. it has a snowman on it. i got it from target for $9.99 and i love wearing it because it keeps me warm and is so cute. i heard that we are going to get our christmas tree on friday, maybe, and so i'm trying to be so good so that i can go too to pick out the tree. i will help decorate it too. i can do all the lowest branches because i can reach them by myself.
i have been asking my mommy's sister to make her yummy cookies soon because santa claws is coming and i want to make sure that he has cookies and his reindeer get carrots for them, even though i might eat some first because they are so tasty! i can't wait for santa to come! there was lightning the other day and i woke up so fast and got so worried that santa wouldn't be safe to come if the weather was bad but my mommy told me, "don't worry, poopsie, santa will come no matter what." i hope he will be okay! i have been watching the weather on the internet to make sure it stays nice for him.
i also wrote my letter to santa. here it is:
dear santa claws,
it's poopsie! my name is penny lane and i am so excited that you are coming to visit my family soon. this year, i have been a very good girl, i think, because my mommy gives me lots of treats and kisses. i know that your sleigh is not very big so i don't need any presents. i want there to be enough room for my family to get their gifts because i love them so much. i have an older sister named mia and she's a cat and she's nine years old. she always says she's going to play with me "in five more minutes" so please remember to bring her lots of presents.

i always say good morning to everything when i see it.
christmas is my favorite time of the year. it was when i came from new york to live with my family. they took me to pick out a tree and i wore a warm snowman jacket because it was so cold and i was just a baby! i love looking at the bright lights and dancing for cookies and i always get lots of presents from santa because he says i've been a good girl!
but most of all, i am so excited that it's christmas because that means mommy comes home! she goes away to do school to a place called london and that's in england and i miss her so, so much when she's gone! i sit against the door to her room but i won't go in because she's not there. this year is so special and i must have been so good because this year when my mommy comes home for christmas this time, she's coming home forever! she is all done with her degree (i think she worked hard for it) and now i get to be with her all the time like before! and she's coming back in 2 days! oh mai gaw, i don't know what i'm going to do! i'm so excited!
when she was at school, she kept me up to date with everything she was doing on her website littlewicked.org. she makes videos and writes blogs and takes lots of pictures (and talks a lot about me too because we love each other!). i'd love if you would visit her there as she prepares to pack and come home! (you have to come back and tell me if she is waiting until the last minute and going crazy the last night--that's what always happens! it's so funny!)
oh mi gosh! i forgot! i have to go and find my purse. my family is going to go christmas shopping for presents and i need to go buy some for them! sometimesit's hard for me to wrap them, though, because i don't have thumbs. maybe they'll take me to the mall--i like it there because it smells so good and we walk across the street and i get to have a special poopsie cupcake just for me from the cupcake store!
come visit me again soon, kay? and i hope you all have a very, very happy christmas just like mine and that you get to spend it with the people you love the most!
