Arrival Story:
Well my husband is a trucker and was comming home from Ontario. He saw this dog on a busy 3 lane highway and was almost hit . My husband stopped his truck ASAP and jumped out to get him. This poor baby was trying to run but had quills in his paw. My husband and his other passenger carried him back to the truck and got him in. There my husband took out the quills and "Drifter" felt much better. My husband said there was no way he could leave him but he also had a deadline to meet. So the only thing he could do was take him. Well home they came 2 days later and when I got home from work I checked him over. Hubby said he has a sore ear so I checked that out right away. Turns out he has a big cut and 2 very deep puncture wounds. We took him to the vet today and the vet says he is about 8 - 12 mths old. The puncture wounds go right into his ear canal. He may need surgery later depending on scar tissue. He is very skiddish but as time is passing he is getting much better. He is housebroken but that is about it. He is very gentle. We checked for a chip or tattoo but alas there was none. So we will keep trying to find his owners if possible. Needless to say unless we can find them he will stay with us until he is healed and then I will start adoption procedures. That's if we don't keep him BOL. But until all avenues are done... he is safe and will be loved.

Well.. where can I begin?
Ok I guess I should start where I met my FD first.
He was truckin down the highway in New Brunswick when he spotted me. You see, I was injured so I couldn't run very fast. I was SCARED. He stopped and came to me. I could see he was very caring so I let him catch me. He was so nice that he carried me back to the truck ( almost a mile). He saw quills in my paw and took them out really gentle. He then had to make a decision. Try to find a shelter or take me with him. Guess what he did? I heard him on a thing talking to a " honey". Then he started that truck and on the road we go. He stopped at a store and got me some food. Yanno, there must have been another dog in here because he had a leash and a good doggie bone there. Needless to say I was busy. So for 2 sleeps we were travellin.

Then we stopped and he took me out and put me in a car. There was no doggie things in there. Oh well that would change real soon. The next time we stopped it was at a house. He took me in and WOW there were 2 BIG dogs and a cat AND a skin dog. They all liked me and said WELCOME. They showed me all around. We were there for alittle while and then my FD took me again in the car. He didn't tell me where we were going.

Then I met my new FM. She looked at me and said " what a beautiful boy". I was in heaven. When we came back to the house, she checked me over. She found burrs embedded in my hair by my ear. She cut them off and found a big cut. It wasn't bleeding but she did bandage it til we went to the booboo doctor. That was when FM told the doctor it seems like I can't hear to well out of my right ear. She was right. The cut also had 2 deep punture wounds that went into my ear canal. The doctor stitched it but left a part open so the infection could drain. I have this plastic thing on and I am like a bull in a china shop. I have to keep it on for 2 weeks. I will have my stitches out in 2-3 weeks depending on my healing. The doctors also said I may need surgery on my ear canal if the scar tissue hinders my hearing.

So other then that, I am doing good. Now that it isn't raining, mom and dad is taking us all out for a nice walk. We couldn't do that before because it has been raing so much and I couldn't get wet. So... I am off now for a walk. Will update later.
