Our neighbor has a basset hound that we see all the time when we go for walks around our neighborhood at his house barking at us through the fence. On Sunday morning, mom sees him strolling down the street by himself without his owner and when she said "Hey there little fellow" he luckily came to mom quickly and she took him home, safe from the dangers of the road. I was watching all of this out the window i might add. When she came in the house I told mom she could us my leash to walk him home to his owner since he had a collar for a place to snap a leash on, but be sure you bring my leash back and wash it afterwards. He has got out once before when his owner's didn't know it until later after they came home from work. We are thinking he must have dug out from under the fence is how he escaped. He resembles Oscar and brings back memories of him for mom every time she sees him with those long soft ears. She kept wanting to say Oscar so much when she seen him. He is very sweet and friendly dog that leads very well. He had no dog tag with any identification whatsoever with a name and phone number which you should always have on a dog to prevent a dog from getting lost or microchip. Luckily, we have seen the dog before and knew his owner he belonged to and some are not so lucky. Mom made me a bone-shaped dog tag that is blue (my favorite color) at Petsmart when i first arrived at my forever home with her name, address, and phone number (like i would run away from mom not in a million years) Bol to prevent me from getting lost.
All in all, it was a happy ending for all. We didn't want to see him get run over by a car or anything bad to happen to him. It was so beautiful to see the little fellow we found reunited with his daddy. His folks sure were happy to see him and relieved that we found him and thanked us for his safe return. Although, he wasn't really concerned much about being lost because he was enjoying his adventure at the present time in a unknown world Bol!!!! Heck, i don't blame him because I would be too.
All's well that ends well!
Hugs,
Bear

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride!
Allow the experience of fresh air &
the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy. When love ones come home always greet them.
When it is in your best interest practice obedience.
Let other's know when they are invading your territory.
Take naps and stretch when rising.
Run,romp & play daily.
Eat with gusto & enthusiasm.
Be Loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day,be silent,
sit close by& nuzzle them gently.
Thrive on attention& let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On hot days, drink lots of water& lay under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around & wag your entire body.
No matter how often you're scolded,
don't buy into the guilt thing & pout...
run right back & make friends.
Bond with your pack.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Hugs,
Bear

I got a dog toy value pack with lots of squeaky toys inside like a tennis ball, multicolored spiky ball, another pink and green ball, bone shaped squeaky toy with paw prints, and a gingerbread doll that is very soft and cuddly. Hope Santa Paws filled all my pup pals stockings with lots of goodies.

It's the day before Christmas
And all through the house
The puppies are squeaking
An old rubber mouse.
The wreath which had merrily
Hung on the door
Is scattered in pieces
All over the floor.
The stockings that hung
In a neat little row
Now boast a hole in
Each one of the toes.
The tree was subjected
To bright-eyed whims,
And now, although splendid,
It's missing some limbs.
I catch them and hold them.
"Be good", I insist.
They lick me, then run off
To see what they've missed.
And now as I watch them
The thought comes to me,
That their's is the spirit
That Christmas should be.
Should children and puppies
Yet show us the way,
And teach us the joy
That should come with this day?
Could they bring the message
That's written above,
And tell us that, most of all
Christmas is love.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Hugs,
Bear

We wish you warmest thoughts and best wishes for a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year! May you be blessed with peace, love and joy and special gifts of this holiday season. Hope all of you get what you want for Christmas from Santa Paws. Be good boys and girls because Santa Paws is on his way and is watching and don't forget to leave your doggie safe cookies and milk out for him. BOL!!!!
Also, thank you so much Bailey for our PDPC Christmas card. We love it and you are so talented. It made mom smile and thank you so much for thinking of us and all of our pals who sent us rosettes and gifts with Christmas Wishes. We can't thank you enough! We wuvs each and everyone one of you!
Mom has already wrapped my gift and put it under the tree. I have already went looking for it under there and found it, but will wait until Christmas day to open it as always. I also have been helping mom wrap presents. She puts the name tags on the gifts and writes the names on the tags while i grab a bow with my mouth and put it on the gift and press it down with my paw until it sticks. BOL!!!! My bow on my gift would not stick, so mom had to tape it down and a couple of others. We have just a few more to wrap before Christmas Day and we might be going out of town this weekend to visit my Aunt and Uncle to give them their presents. It will be nice to see them around Christmas, so hope all of our plans go as expected.
Hugs,
Bear

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families in Newton, CT during this tough holiday season. So sad and so sorry to all affected by this! What has this world come to…these kids come to school to learn, never expecting this senseless tragedy to happen. It is beyond my comprehension why anyone would want to hurt innocent children. They didn't deserve this neither does anyone else and most were so young and had their whole live ahead of them-- birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own.
I agree, the days ahead should be for a serious reflection about how we can reduce the flow of guns into the wrong hands. One mass shooting after another is a lot to take in with so much pain and mourning, that we need to do more to protect the innocent. We must come together as a nation to honestly discuss how to prevent people intent on carrying out these savage attacks from so easily obtaining guns and ammunition.
More importantly, though, the safety of children and all Americans demands we have it. if that means teachers being allowed to have a gun in the classroom will help them if a threat were to arise, then so be it.

Hi friends,
It's been two years now since i have written in my diary here on Dogster and Thanksgiving is finally here, and Christmas is just around the corner. Where has this year gone?? It has been a beautiful one with gifts of good weather, beautiful crops and smiles on most of the people I meet! Mom will cook me a special dinner this Thursday! There is something wonderfully gratifying about gathering together over food and giving thanks for the good things in this life. I believe we all have two families, the one we are given and the one we create through marriage and friendship. Each year as we celebrate Thanksgiving (multiple times in my household), we have the opportunity to reflect on all of the good things in our lives. Today I am thankful for my family, especially my parents whom i have a forever home with a roof over my head because of them found me 4 years ago just a cute little buddle of joy at 3 weeks old lol. I am thankful for many things great and small, health and comfort, warmth, laughter, good food, and good friends with whom we create memories that last a lifetime.
That being said, I want to wish you all the best this holiday season, and for many holidays to come. I am so happy to be where I am today, and I’m very excited for what the future holds.
Have a wonderful holiday and thanks for always being here.
