Likes: He loves being with you. He is a velcro dog. Pet-Peeves: Really none. Just a very easy going dog. Favorite Toy: Soft monkey Favorite Food: anything that he can chew! Favorite Walk: anywhere. He loves his walks. Best Tricks: Not really a trick dog, just a great companion Arrival Story: George came in as a stray to the Agoura Animal Shelter. He was emaciated at 49 pounds, loosing hair on his coat, and his teeth were in very bad condition. I volunteer at the shelter, and took him home to foster. Through a non profit medical group to help animals, George received a complete physical, had 8 teeth extracted and a dental cleaning. Because we believe that George was living on the streets for sometime, he initially would drink water until it was gone, even on walks he would want to stop and drink the water run off in the gutter. George was tested to see if this could be a medical condition, but all lab tests came back negative. Now that George has gained 3o pounds he isn't drinking the amount of water that he did when I first started fostering. Now that he knows he will always have water, and knows that every morning when he wakes up there will be food he is one happy and healthy dog. Bio: George loves people. Although he gets along fabulously with my other three dogs, he would be just as content being an only dog as well. He is excellent on the leash (except when he sees a a human or another dog, he gets so excited, all he wants to do is go and say hello). He knows sit, down, and is a left handed shaker. He is house trained, however at night he always can't hold it until morning, but he always goes on the potty pad when he can't make it. He likes to talk, and will bark at you if he has to go outside, wants to play, or come cuddle with you on the couch. His favorite place to sleep is in our club chair. Because so many teeth were extracted, he must be fed wet food. I soak his kibble in hot water and then give him a can of wet food. ALso, only soft treats for this boy. And, he loves his soft plush toys. Like all labs, any food on the kitchen counters is fair game, so it's best to leave things out of his reach. George is an older labbie that needs a home that will give him lots of love and attention. I've Been On Dogster Since:
