Yesterday when we crawled out of our nice comfrey bed and went outside to do our business we noticed cows in the neighbor’s yard. Momma put Coco back into the garage after she had piddled and told me to come with her.
Down the driveway we went and low and behold there were tons of cows in our yard also. Let me be the one to tell you that cows certainly are much bigger up close than they look from across a field. Momma started to shoo the cows out the opened gate but then she stopped suddenly. Standing real close to momma was an intact bull that was giving us the ole evil eye.
“Puffy, please chase the bull out of the opened gate so the rest of the cows will follow.”
“Are you NUTS? That thing is HUGE! I could be killed!” I said as I hid behind momma.
“Okay, let’s go back up to the garage and wake up daddy and tell him to get the cows out of the yard.”
Daddy is not the type of person who likes to be woken up before he thinks it is time to get up but not only did we have cows in the yard but Bay-Ling, my nice kitty sister had gotten out of the guest bedroom in the house and could not be located so momma wanted him to help us find her.
Momma woke up daddy and as soon as he heard Bay-Ling was missing he jumped right out of bed and went to look for her. She wasn’t located because she is a master at finding great hiding spots and NEVER comes when called so he gave up and decided to go get the cows out of the yard using his ATV.
So here it was early in the morning with daddy chasing the cows out of the yard and momma following in her nightgown to make sure he got all of them out. The cows trampled what was left of our garden and left some meadow muffins behind but they were not the really tasty ones that had lots of hay in them so we left them where they were.
Now that the cows were out of the yard, the humans went back to looking for Bay-Ling in the house and finally found her among boxes in the pantry.
This morning the cows were once again walking the neighborhood but they couldn’t get into our yard because the humans had shut the gate last night. Some of the neighbors are upset with the cow owner because he refuses to do anything about his cows destroying other people’s property. Life in the country sure is different than city life!
I know you are a tuff guy but Please be careful 'round those cows. Even a momma cow can be mean and charge at you. They kick and if you got in the way, it would be Bad.
We have a neighbor like yours. We've had pigs, cows, horses in our lil 2 acres. We have a gate that gets closed to keep them out.
Personally, I think you are lucky that hamburgers are coming to your door. MOmmy has to go and get mine for me. I hope the neighbor starts putting his cows up before they hurt someone.
So, tell me, how are your momma and daddy going to do to keep the cows and their big ole bull out of your space? Your momma wants to grow a garden that keeps on getting squished.
Could you do me a favor? Will you tell Coco and your momma that I am sort of sick and I will post about it tomorrow.
BOL, I think Demon Flash Bandit is right! Y'all are lucky to get steaks delivered to your door, BOL!
wow...it sure must be different than the city, but very exciting, never know what is going to happen
Don't know I missed this about the moos.... now you see why Gma gets so upset with Gpa when they are out and tearing up her yard around the house.....
Be careful around moos...it's not just the Bulls that can run you down! Can be very dangerous....
WELCOME to life in the TWILIGHT ZONE! hehe mazy
