Favorite Walk: turtle creeks park Best Tricks: stand on hind legs and look rediculously adorable Arrival Story: We saw an ad on Craigslist which mentioned a corgi mix and we were really interested but mostly drove down on a whim - hoping but not expecting. When we got there - there she was. Quiet, kind of dozing off and just as cute as pie - the corgi was much older than they mentioned in case you're wondering. We asked to walk Dahlia and we did and we were sold; we couldn't leave without her- so we didn't. The car ride home was strange and surreal - we really had a dog with us. She slept on mom's lap while mom and dad talked about names. Nothing fit. All those names we had planned didn't fit..and then we passed a billboard for a movie. Although slightly grim - it seemed to work - The Black Dahlia. While not the happiest of movies - she's our little flower..only white obviously. We had been talking about getting a dog and no one really believed us so imagine the surprise everyone got when we arrived! Since then she has made herself quite popular with everyone! Regardless of who we're visiting she seems to fit right in; or she makes room. Either way, everyone is blessed by her and loves her incredible never-ending energy and boundless love. Mom and Dad are incredibly happy to get so lucky with their little girl! Bio: The rescue agency told us that she had been picked up in a Bakersfield CA pound where she was three hours from being put down. The first few weeks we had her were really tough - she was severly underweight, fleas and ticks and also had METAL stitches in where she hadbeen spayed. The agency (which will remain nameless) told us the stitches were disposable but after just a few days we noticed they were going nowhere and her stomach swelled. We at once got her to the vet where they were removed with wire cutters(!!) and they helped us with proper shots, flea and tick treatment and heart protection. Dahlia is very healthy and active now! :D Forums Motto: No Work and All play is Dahlias Way I've Been On Dogster Since:
