Arrival Story: I picked my mom. I would not take my eyes off of her when She held me . I was so excited that I almost wiggled out of her arms . I was so wiggly , kissing and biting her arm of course I was only 8 weeks old. Every time she would look at one of the other not as cute as me I would go crazy trying to get to her. Guess that did the trick because she came back to me. I can not be seperated from her for a minute! You know it is ALL ABOUT ME!
Bio: Love to play and run at Woof Pack Park where I have many friends. I loves to play tag with any dog who is willing. I love a challenge. I love to box with other dogs but sometimes they do not understand my play. When I play tag I like to nip them in the rear to make them chase me and they always do.
On May 28th 2008,while at the dog park and on my 5th birthday, my mom fell from twisting her leg in a hole in the ground. She fell and broke her femur bone ( the biggest bone in the leg).
I was with human friend and saw her fall and went to her immediately and did my "work" . Mom was conscience , so I laid near her head and neck , resting my head on her as I knew she was really hurt. When the people came to help her ,that had loud sirens and lots of equipment I remained calm and in place. Everyone said I was a amazing service dog. All those legs and hands working on her did not bother me as I knew she was being helped.
I did not like it when I had to be removed and I cried because I am supposed to always be with her but my Daddy arrived and tried to console me. I hated it when that she was taken from me and worried constantly while she had to be in hospital. I wanted to visit her but mom felt it was best I not get upset by seeing me and not being able to stay. I was so happy when she came home and I was very gentle so as not to hurt her.
Now she is able to walk with a walker and she sits outside with me when I sun myself and now with Baci we are very content to be with her and play in the yard.
Well life has been fun. I spend my days helping mom. Enjoying my walks and of course my time at the dog park. Today I got to see my best friend Kismet also a fellow IG. His brother Jazz who is a whippet and of course old Rufus the Jack Russell, and not forget my Collie friend Wings Cherie who got us all in a happy running after her mood. What fun we had chasing her around . Of couse we could of over ran her anytime but we just enjoyed running along side her. Yep! Life is fun.
As Of Sept. 2006 I officially became my mom's service dog. I am so happy to help her. I pick up what ever she drops or needs picking up ( heavy things are exception) and I make sure if she falls down I kiss her till she says she is ok , then I go find her cell phone incase she needs to make a call. I also watch for changes in her breathing for signs of trouble. I have been training for this all my life. All she has to do is say " HELP Racer" and I am there, or if I see her on the floor I go for the phone!
I love helping my mom!
