He enjoys walking around the park across the street from our house. There are plenty of pigeons and squirrels to chase!
Best Tricks:
Standing or sitting on his hind legs. He has such amazing balance, I'm beginning to think he's part Prarie dog!
Arrival Story:
I was taking our dog, Davey, to be groomed. Anyway, after I dropped him off, I wandered over to where the rescue groups set up for adoptions. In a puppy pen, were 4 dogs. Two puppies and two small dogs. The little long-haired one caught my attention as he was the only calm critter in the pen. I went over to the pen, squatted beside it, and reached over to touch him. He came up to me and licked my fingers. He then proceeded to climb up the side of the pen, over the top, and directly onto my lap. He curled up and loved on me for a few minutes and that was it. I called home and said, "Would you please come up to the groomers with me to pick up Davey?" Of course I was asked why. My reply was "There is the CUTEST little dog for adoption, and he LOVES me!"
And that was it. He had to come home with us!
Bio:
Toby is a rescue dog, so we know very little about his history. He is absolutely precious! We were told that he was left outside an animal shelter, in a shopping cart. We don't know how long he was with the shelter, but the rescue foundation had only had him a little over 24 hours when I saw him and fell in love with him.
He's a bit of a monster when it comes to the cats. He's fine if they are sitting still, but the minute they run, he is in hot pursuit! I'm not sure how to break him of this so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd be happy to try them!
