Arrival Story:
I have wanted a pug for as long as I can remember. We finally found her in a local paper, and went to pick her up. The next day she had a seizure and I rushed her to the vet, she was eaten up with worms. After a LOT of treatment, we finally got her well. She had to be incubated to keep her temp up, and her food down. Finally, she recovered. She's such a trooper! Then, we had to have her nose opened up with laser surgery to help her breathe, because her nostils were too small. Then, in April 2008 we discovered she had a hereditary disease in her hips that caused them to dislocate at any given time. She had started pacing around and couldn't get still, and she was salivate a whole lot. The vet took x-rays and determined her hips were in and out of socket all the time. We had her left hip corrected with a femoral head ostectomy surgery. She healed all summer and got stronger, and in November 2008, we had her right hip fixed. She's recovering now and is doing so well! She is so strong! I feel we rescued her because these breeders didn't really know what they were doing. Hopefully this info might help other pugs who've gone undiagnosed.
