Walks, following people around the house, playing with my squeaky toys, learning new tricks, being wherever my mom is

People who have decided they don't want to play with me anymore

Favorite Toy:
My goose that has lost all its stuffing and its squeaker

Favorite Food:
ANYTHING. I've eaten flour, coffee grounds, doggie toothpaste (oh yeah, including the tube), smokehouse almonds, and actually UNSCREWED the lid of a peanut butter jar to eat that. I'm a smartie!

Favorite Walk:
Downtown Palo Alto or Menlo Park, where I get to visit my friends and they give me treats

Best Tricks:
Roll over, high five, wave, shake (with both hands), crawl, bow, get your leash, touch, balance (on my haunches), spin/unwind, bang (play dead)

Arrival Story:
I was dumped at the Peninsula Humane Society by my first family, who left me there with no name and a surrender form full of contradictions (like, Is she housebroken? No. Has she ever had an accident in the house? Never.) My mom's first dog had died the previous December, and her family discovered my profile online in March. In May 2008, when my mom came home from college, I was still at the shelter--it had been five and a half months. I was quite the crazy kid, but she was sure that with exercise, discipline and affection I could become a wonderful dog. She took me on a long walk, brought me home and within three days of applying Cesar Millan's methods I had calmed down so much that her mom (who initially wasn't sure they should get me at all, given my tendency toward insanity in the outdoor play yard) couldn't stop talking about the transformation.

I love to be anywhere my mom is! Sometimes her dad jokes that they should've named me Shadow, because I follow her everywhere. I have a talent for being both unflappably calm and really silly (but of course not at the same time). I just graduated to full service dog status, and love having a job and getting to help my mom! When I'm not working, I love going on long walks with our dog-walking pack--I get to keep everybody in line--and enjoy lounging around the house. Oh yes, and running up and down the stairs growling to myself like I'm crazy. I make all kinds of bizarre sounds. My favorite game is called Wounded Bear--if someone scratches me in just the right spot, I wriggle around and make a noise that sounds exactly like a wounded bear in a movie!
