Quick Bio:

Birthday:
June 30th 2006

Likes:
Nelly love's ice cubes! She thinks that they are prime rib. As soon as she hears the ice cube dispenser from the fridge she and her sister come running for their "special treat"

Pet-Peeves:
She is not a morning dog! She needs to be uncovered and carried downstairs to go out in the morning. Also her kitty sister, Thelma, because she won't play with her, no matter how hard Nelly tries

Favorite Toy:
A little rubber tire, socks, and, of course, tennis balls. She also enjoys her baby pool in the summer time

Favorite Food:
Aside from her Iams, she likes ice cubes, green beans, ice cream, slim jims, doggie cookies, pizza, turkey, cheese, and pretty much anything else that falls on the floor or that's on people's plates

Favorite Walk:
Around the circle in our neighboorhood then our BIG loop around the side streets and of course, the aisles of PetSmart

Best Tricks:
Well, she can sit but her best trick is just being cute. She gets cookies just for being cute

Arrival Story:
While reading "Marley and Me" (The best book in the world! Can't wait for the movie! Opens 12/25/2008) I was telling my boyfried (now husband) all of the funny things that Marley was doing. After hearing all of the cute, quirky things that this dog did, my husband said "Let's get a dog". Being a dog lover, of course I jumped all over this. At the time, we lived in an apartment, therefore I went to the bookstore and researched the different breeds that we were interested in that were suitable for apartment living. After deciding on a Boston Terrier, we found a local breeder in Stoneham, MA who just had a litter that was born 4 weeks earlier. We then went down to see the little babies and picked out our girl, but couldn't bring her home for another month. On Nelly's 8-week birthday, I must have called the breeder every 15 minutes until he finally answered and said that we could come down and pick her up. We brought her home on August 30, 2006 with her little pink baby blanket and we have been in love ever since!

Bio:
The day that we picked Nelly up was also the day that she had gone to the vet for the first time for her shots. Our breeder told us that the breeder had heard a heart murmur on exam so if we wanted to choose another puppy that was OK. We didn't care about a heart murmur. We knew from the first time we saw her a month earlier that she was the one. Come to find out, Nelly didn't have a murmur. Our vet attributed it to the little puppy being nervous because there has never been any evidence of Nelly having a heart murmur ever since that day. She is a perfectly healthy dog!

Dear Diary,
I have never kept a diary before, mainly because I don't have any thumbs to write. The whole typing thing is alot easier. I am way excited that my Mom put me on dogster! I have been watching her email and check her Facebook page on the computer and I have been so jealous! Now I have my own page to connect with all my barking buddies. She's not the only one anymore! This is a very exciting day in my doggie world! I think it's only second best to the time we went to the lake for a week!
Mom will have to take some more pictures of my sister and me for my new site! Maybe she will buy me a new holiday outfit for the photo shoot...?
Bark at you later diary! Lily and I are off to bed!
