started to ask to go outside

Just this past month I finally started to ask to go outside. I will stand and look at the backdoor until Mom opens it for me. My first day of asking I would go outside for about 30 seconds and then ask to come back in to get my treat. Gretchen thought this was a fun game and played it along with me. I did this about 5 times in a row until Mom said enough already. Mom, thinks I just wanted to make sure that she would be let me back in each time and get a treat. Now I only ask when I need to go out. I have the best bladder control Mom ever seen in a dog. I still am not a morning dog will stay on Moms bed long after they gotten up. Will come wandering downstairs when I am good and ready. I want to go up the stairs and into the bedroom now I don't want to leave it.

I am the back up singer when Gretchen and Mom sing.

I am the back up singer when Gretchen and Mom sing. Neither of them can carry a tune but it doesn't stop us having fun singing. Gretchen sits up straight and kind of sings (OK ,barks ) the words. Our favorite song is," If your happy and you know it wag your tail". I will join in but stay laying down and pick my head up if I feels like it (or not) and I go ar-ruh, ar-ruh, aruh ar-ruuuuuuuuuuuuuh in the hound doggy way . Will work my way into the baying sound. They say I am the perfect backup singer for them. It is just too funny.

We just got home from Camp Bow Wow. At camp I was showing off to CC Brain about all things I learned since he saw me last. He told Mom to try to teach me not only high fives but low fives. So I guess I will be learning that also. Not even Gretchen know that trick.

Rainy day / Baking day

It has been raining (cat & dogs)since yesterday. The only good thing is some of the ice has gone away from the deck and driveway. It gets us all wet and Sheena takes a loooong time to dry. Mom lets us have a smoked bone while she watch us enjoy it. I wasn't quite finished with it but she took it away anyway. Said it was too small to have anymore. Bummer!!! Mom said to get ready to make some dog friendly cookies from the Camp Bow Wow newsletter. Yummo. We are her official taste testers. We take that job very seriously.

We need to send some to our four legged cousins in Ohio in their pkg. We have included the recipe here in case you want your moms or dads to make them for you.

Recipe of the Month - Snickerpoodles

½ cup vegetable oil

½ cup shortening

1 cup honey

2 eggs

3 ¾ cups white flour

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ cup cornmeal

2 teaspoons cinnamon

Mix up the oil, shortening, honey and eggs. Beat well. Add flour, soda and cream of tartar. Knead dough until mixed well. Shape dough by rounded teaspoons into balls. Mix the cornmeal and cinnamon together in a bowl and roll balls in mixture. Place 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Press the balls down with a fork. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 400F. Cool on a rack. Feed to the dogs. Store in airtight container. Feed some more.

Santa heard that we want Trevor's Treats from Vicky Pet Connection . He got us some. Left us more can squeezy cheese. YUMO. That was all we wanted cause we have a warm home where we are wanted , loved and accepted in. Tell me what else could us dogs really need. It was to cold and slippery for our Christmas walk to see all the Christmas lights. Mom said we will make Poppy corn tonite and watch a movie. Sisser Gretchen talks during the movie until all the poppy corn is gone than she'll curl up quietly. Sheena falls asleep during the movie and snores loudly. Pearl is the only quiet one in the bunch.

The snow was so deep Mom had to shovel a path and a clearing for us to go potty.

It is real cold 10 degrees. Even Sheena doesn't like being out to long. We do our business and check out a few spots then back to the door to be let in.

I can't see my backyard. Only snow. The snow is tall than me. My tracks that I and Mom made yesterday are gone.
We are all warm and toasty inside. The wind is really blowing so loud we can hear it here in sided. Mom says we will be OK . We have a brand new bag of dry dog food and a case of can food. We can weather out the storm. It is hard to go potty when the snow is higher than your butt.

It is cold outside

Mom was very mean to me this morning,. She made me go out side in the blowing snowy cold. I didn't want to and put on the doggy brakes but they didn't work. She cupped my but with her hand and pushed me out the back door. I turned right around to come back in but she shut the door in my face. That was just plain rude in my book. Granted I only had to stay out side for a short time but it seem like a looooong time. Finally I was called to come in . I was all ready standing by the back door ready to dash in. I ran in and curled up on my cushy as I swallowed my treat.

Camp Bow Wow day

Mom, findly got up early enough for Pearl and Gretchen to go to Camp Bow Wow. We ran and played with our four legged friends. We kinda stayed inside because it was cold out in the playyard. Inside it is temperature controlled to our liking. Mom send us in with a snack to keep our energy up. We had a run on the treadmill that they have there. One of the camp counselors is there guiding us as we run. We have to keep our girlie figures. Mom, picked us up after running all her errands. All the way home Gretchen told her about our time at camp. Pearl was busy sticking her head out the window checking out the scenes.Sheena had stayed home with a Kong filled with cheese. As her back is hurting her and we don't want her to get bumped around .
We got home and had lunch of kibble and pumkin puree with a little bit of can food. Now it is nap time. We are all curled up on the cushys'.
Till next time.
