Tail of a Tiny Girl

We had a great summer!

Hello, world! It's me, FiFiGiGi,

Sorry I haven't been around for a while, Mamma has been keeping me very busy and I haven't had any time to think about writing. We have been in Fire Island all summer. Well, all summer except when we were in Seattle and NYC and Pennsylvania!

We went to Seattle for 1 week so that Mamma and Meteor could attend the AFT convention and our Danny and I could sightsee. And sightsee we did! We went to dog parks and sculpture gardens and drank coffee after coffee and ate lots and lots of oysters. We walked until my poor feet were gonna fall right off! AND then when Mamma and Meteor got out of their meetings we had to tell them and show them everything we had seen that day. Whew. I was glad to get back to the beach after that.

We mostly go to the beach every afternoon and sit watching the water. Only our Danny loves the waves, Mete, Mamma and I just like to walk on the sand and play ball and stuff like that. I have 2 toys that I love to fetch on the beach, my frog flyer (it's a rope ring with a stuffed frog stretched across it) and my stuffed duck. I am a retriever!

We went to Pennsylvania for our Danny's family reunion. We didn't have too much fun because it rained and rained that day but then Mamma decided we could run on the grass in the rain anyway and then we had a blast. Meteor and I were chasing each other like crazy dogs and rolling in the wet grass. But then we weren't allowed back in the house, so we had to drive back to NY without staying another night. That was ok too, because there are too many weird noises in that country.

Right now it is Hurricane Earl and we are in the house listening to the rain in Fire Island. We expect it to be over by tomorrow and then we will have one more long weekend at the beach before we go back to the city for Mamma to go to work. Ick. Work.

Doglympics

Hello, World. It's me, FiFiGiGi!

Today my brother Meteor and I went to an event called Doglympics. It was organized by one of the meetup groups my Mamma belongs to with us. The big decision of course was what to wear. Mamma decided on a polo shirt with a #1 and an American Flag for Meteor, and for me, a star bedazzled tank top and red and blue wristbands and star barrettes. We were styling. Of course we were.

The event was held at our favorite animal shelter, Animal Haven, in NYC. There were different categories that each team had to compete in. We were on a team with a Yorkie Poo and a Papillion. The four of us had to decide who would compete in each stunt.

I was chosen to "Find the Treat". There was a puzzle with a bunch of plastic bones with treats under them. Well, no treat gets away from me, FiFiGiGi! I found that treat and figured out how to open that puzzle in under a minute. No other dog in the room could do that. Except Cubby. But it was her toy.

Meteor won the "Fastest Sit" competition. He and our friend Moxie had to have a "sit off" for the final winner. Mete's butt was on the floor before Moxie even heard the word sit. That's my brother! He's fast when he knows there is something at stake.

The other events were "Jump through the hoop", "Most tricks", "How well do you know your dog" and "Best Trick". It was so so so much fun. We were proud to be on the top team. But most of all, we loved posing for winners photos.

Hopefully someone will send us a picture. As usual, Mamma brought her camera and didn't take a single shot.

It snowed and it snowed!

Hello, World. It's me, FiFiGiGi!

Well it's true. On Thursday night it snowed and snowed and snowed so much that the schools were closed in NYC on Friday. Mamma was SO excited. She couldn't wait for the snow to stop to take us outside. And she didn't wait for the snow to stop - we went out while it was still coming down.

My Gramma has a back yard outside of her apartment, but we've never been in it. But Gramma wasn't home, so Mamma took us out there and we didn't even have to worry about getting wet on the floor when we came back in. We romped in snow bigger than us, and guess what? We were NAKED! Our Danny said we should try it like real dogs this time, since we were in our own private park. Brrrrrr, it was cold on our feet and cold on our legs and we had snowballs stuck to all our fuzzyiness. We had fun, but we didn't last too long because we got so cold. Later, Mamma took us out there again with our friends Louis and Olive and we had our pajamas on and our boots and it was much more fun. We should Olive and Louis the paths that we had made before and we all ran around in the snow.

I hope we go out again today before it gets too melted. I love snow.
