Arrival Story:
We had been searching for a year for a dog and we were trying to adopt a dane or a doberman. On haloween we found an add in the paper for a dane. We called and went to see the two danes up for adoption, one fawn and one mantle. The family who owned the dogs are amazing ! Unfortunately they were not able keep their beloved pets so they were looking to place them in good homes. I fell in love with the mantle, but my son (who had been bitten by a dog we were adopting at the SPCA only a week prior) was terrified by the size of the dogs. It was a little disappointing, but completely understandable. I enjoyed the chance to meet them and we left. A few days later we found Apollo and adopted him from a breeder. A month went by and out of the blue we remembered the two beautiful danes we saw on Haloween. We wondered how they dogs were and if they had found good homes. The very next day the owner of the danes phoned. She found a great home for the fawn and was still searching to place the mantle. I was so excited ! I could not beleive the coincidence. We went by the very next day and picked up our beautiful new addition. Hera comes from an amazing family and is a fantastic dog. My son immediately got over his fears in an hour and Apollo has a wonderful big sister to mentor him. We could not be happier ! Another cool sign that this was meant to be - we had named Apollo not knowing the dane we met earlier had been named Hera. Now we have the mother goddess and the son god.
