Bio: Ben likes Chunky Monkey and Jerry likes Cherry Garcia!
Not really, but they both love their dog food and chewing on bones. The two guys were found running along side a major highway with no collars or ID. It was a miracle they survived; especially since little Jerry is blind. A kind woman was able to rescue them.
Jerry likes to have Ben nearby to help guide him around and make him feel secure. Once Jerry gets to know his surroundings he gets around well. They are both very affectionate and playful. They love lap time. They mostly just love hanging out wherever their humans are.
Jerry went to the eye specialist 11/18/08. She determined he is blind and the reason is that he either had severe eye injuries or an infection that went untreated. His blindness does not affect his ability to love. He would do best in a stable home where his familiar items (food bowl, bed, etc.) are kept in the same spots. As long as he has his 'touchstone' objects in familiar places he gets by very well. Of course having his seeing eye dog Ben helps too!
Ben is a small poodle, and Jerry is a Lhaso-mix. They are both approximately 3 years old and want to be adopted together.
Ben and Jerry are in foster care. Please call 503-292-6628, option 3 for information on meeting them.
Please note: due to our screening preference to view the potential home and interview the prospective guardian, we rarely adopt out of our local Portland metro area.
