Birthday:
October 2nd 2007

Likes:
Mornings, cavorting around after the sweater comes off, fluffy blankets, the Tiny Tots pack at daycare, stuffies, neck rubs, tug!

Pet-Peeves:
Sister's barking, stuff falling, rain, being picked up, putting sweaters on (but also being cold)

Favorite Toy:
The sofa

Favorite Food:
I loves me some fish!

Favorite Walk:
I'm not much of a walker, but I will do my best if I get to be carried some, too, so I can rest. I didn't get enough exercise when my body was growing, so we're gonna build me up slowly. [Update: Running is fun!]

Best Tricks:
Keeping all of my big teeth inside my mouth, springing three feet in the air from a standing position, the happy dance.

Arrival Story:
I grew up with lots of other dogs and then got "sold" when I wasn't going to be breeding material. After some time with a lady who scared me and couldn't take care of me, I got dumped at a kennel. The kennel folks were really nice, but I was shut down and scared of everything, had very little muscle tone, ears that were covered in fly bites, the teeth of a much older dog, an abscessed tail, and immune system issues. My new mom got me out and told everyone that I was very much wanted and wasn't going to be passed along again. At first I didn't believe her, but then I started to relax. My new big sis was not happy that she would have to share with me and she sure let me know it. But I learned that she was a lot of bluff and I just had to be patient with her. I also learned that it's okay to be touched. In fact, it's really quite nice.

Bio:
The doc says my teeth are too big for my mouth, which is why they stick out the sides. Also, I have lots of freckles and I'm kinda bowlegged in front. I get called "Elmer" sometimes, but I don't mind. Laughter means everything's okay, so I just wag my tail. I'm a quiet guy, but sometimes I squeak. If I bark, it's only once. I'm a morning dog and I love to greet the day with kisses and wags and lots of pets. I like to crawl across the carpet and let it scratch my belly and rub along the sofa cushions and let them scratch my back. Gentle people rubs are good, too. My soft skin is really sensitive. [Update: Barking is fun!]

Thanks for my birthday wishes. I got extra lovin' from my mom and bully sticks from Precious Pup. Yum! Thanks so much, Precious Pup!

I would have thanked everyone earlier, but my secretary is very slow with dictation. It's hard to find good help, you know.

We have a very full house right now, with four foster dogs and visiting dogs and ... guess what? A kitty! She's little and soft and I wanna jump all over her! She smells so funny. I get taken away if I get too excited, but, look, the kitty eggs me on. She does! She goes, "C'mere, I like dogs. C'mere, see my tail? Wanna see me leap around? C'mere, c'mere." I can't help it! I want to play with her, but she's so new and she bobs around and I just kinda get all wound up.

But it's okay. If I can't chase the kitty, I get a 60-lb. polar bear dog to chase outside. She's fun.

Barkin' and runnin', that's what I like. And chewin'. Chewin's good, too.

Okay, now don't get too jealous, boys. This little lady is mine. Pretty soon she'll know it, too.

Ani is beeyootiful and exactly my size. I was nice to her when she got here yesterday and not just 'cause momma said. Usually, I let'em know who's boss around here, but she already knew. She took one look at my eight solid pounds of manliness and dipped her head. Now we're pals.

When I get around her, my tail just wags and wags. We do a little dance together and I know she would like to play. Gosh, I think I'm swooning.

Congratulations, it's a ... boy?

One of the five girls in my harem went to her new home last Sunday, so Mom has been arranging for a new foster dog. I was pretty psyched. I do loooove the ladies.

So I smell this new dog from my spot behind the gate and then I smell the roast beef that's supposed to distract me from announcing my ruler status. But when I got to the roast beef, there was something real different about this dog. He -- he! -- had extra appendages and smelled real funny. It was just not right. I was thinking, "Mom! Where's my new girl?! This is a danged boy!"

As disappointed as I am, I didn't ram him with my powerful feet or assault him with my kingly roar. That may come later when he's feeling better, 'cuz he's real sick right now. The dude had better stop lying around and get well. He's taking up my lap.
