Arrival Story:
Locksley was adopted from the the Prince Georges County Animal Management Group. He was advertised online as a female Afghan Hound mix - oops! The paperwork at the shelter said he was picked up a stray in Hyattsville, MD. UPDATE: Since getting Locksley in July he's put on a lot of (good!) weight. We've always been skeptical about the "Afghan Hound" mix part, and now it seems even more likely that he's more of a German Shepherd mixed with a Golden Retriever, or Collie. Whatever he is, we think he's great!

Bio:
Locksley enjoys going to work with his mom at Alley Cat Allies in Bethesda, MD. His co-workers include two Belgian Sheep Dogs and five cats. They all ensure the humans get a much needed break.

From the Heritage Canine Breed Test from Petco -

Primary Breed: (none)
Secondary Breed: German Shepherd Dog
In The Mix: Doberman Pinscher, Collie, Shetland Sheepdog

We were betting on the Collie and/or Sheltie component, but the Dobie was a complete surprise!

At any rate, Locksley must be the best of all of these breeds because he sure is great :)
