Arrival Story:
We already had three labs, a mom and her two pups (now grown) and was not looking for another...EXCEPT... that I always wanted one lab of every color and we lacked a chocolate... When a friend's dog had puppies and they were CHOCOLATE, I nearly begged my husband to get one. We went to see them when they were 6 weeks old and we got 2nd pick. One of them (our Rio) walked right up to my husband and "she picked him" as he likes to say! She is the JOY OF OUR LIFE... so bouncy and full of energy.

Bio:
This chick is a stick of dynamite! You can never keep her still! When my husband and oldest son took her to the lake to see if she was going to be gun-shy (not good if you want a duck dog) he fired the gun and my son standing behind him threw the bumper out in the water. When the gun went off, Rio was staring, rigid, trembling and looking out at the water where the decoys already were, like she was expecting "something" to happen. When she saw that bumper hit the water, she dove in like she was on fire! She only had to be corrected a couple of times and every time after that she went to get the bumper just like a PRO! This girl is going to be a duck dog extraordinaire!!! My husband said, "Looks like I've waded out to get my LAST duck!" He's very excited, and we all love her SO MUCH!

Woowooooo!!!!

Haddie and I got a bath the other day and we felt sooo oo ooooo good, we just had to run around all over the place. I had a skin-itchy-OW-ie... so mom put some medicine on it. It tasted yucky, so I didn't mess with it much.

We got to ride in Mom's truck on the way over to a different place. We have a big porch to run around in and get to go out almost whenever we want. Mom bought me a new ball (BALL!!!!!!!!) and she promised she'd play with me tonight when she came in from work....

We chase sticks and I even got in the next door neighbors pond...!!! FUN!!!!! Haddie dove in first, and when Mom wasn't lookin' I dove in too.. I still had my stick in my mouth... but I got out fast when she hollered at me! I hate it when mom hollers....I had to go in, but I shook off real good and got on my blankie and dried off.

Got to run now.... (RUN!!!! BALL!!!!! STICK!!!!!)....

Hey..!!! Where'd she go??

Where did my sister go? My favorite sister is not in her room anymore...and we are all sad. We sleep in front of her door and look at her door waiting for it to open, but she doesn't open it. Mom and Dad helped her put her stuff in boxes and said they were taking her somewhere... We MISS HER!!!

They said something about going to school (whaazzat?) and how she's going to really have to learn to study now. A's came too easy in high school. What the heck is high school?

I went to obedience classes. That was fun! Why does mom cry? Don't cry mom!!

I want to see my sister... Mom says she is coming home for a couple of days really soon... I want her to go to obedience class like me... she would have fun!

More later... I don't want mom to know I've been on her computer...

Mom and dad are acting strangely and there seems to be something going on... I am seeing a few two-leggers that I haven't seen before and it is bothering me just a little. Looks like they are putting their stuff in boxes and they aren't sweeping the floor like they did...my hair gets all over sometimes, you know? I'll have to let you know later what's going on...
