Leave a bone for Piper (Rainbow Bridge)

Nicknames: George, Georgie Porgie, Georgie the Cor-gee, or (when he's bad) Piper George Dog McLain!

Quick Bio:
 Likes: Food!

Pet-Peeves: Having his claws clipped, having to share toys

Favorite Toy: Those knobby dental Nylabones

Favorite Walk: Anywhere

Best Tricks: His best trick was finishing his CD in AKC obedience - you can see a picture of him practicing his jumps

Arrival Story: My sister and I were each allowed to get a dog when we turned 12, and I decided I wanted a Pembroke because of Tasha Tudor. When we found a litter in the paper, we went to look at them, and were immediately smitten with Piper (or Fluffy, as he was then). I think it was meant to be, because I had very specific ideas about the corgi I wanted, and Piper, the only male left in the litter, fit perfectly!

Bio: Piper's full name was Oxbow's Spriggomint CD. The name is a combination of spriggon, the name of a mischevious little Welsh sprite (very corgi-like); and Mint, which is in honor of two of his most notable ancestors, Blackmint of Wey and Spearmint of Wey. We didn't actually realize it til later, but Piper was practically nobility as corgis go! His mother was of Wey and his father a Busy B's corgi, so he had excellent breeding. Despite this, he never did all that well in the show ring, and retired with only 2 points toward his championship. He did wonderfully in obedience, however, despite his funny habit of resting his chin on the ground when sitting, as you can see in that last picture. This occasionally made the judges wonder during the long sits!
