Arrival Story:
Harpo was found in the middle of the highway, trapped between the median, fast traffic and an unfriendly dog ready for a rumble. MPR volunteers happened to drive by and stopped to help the dogs. Harpo was immediately transferred to MPR program and received medical care. The other dog, not a pit bull type, was moved to another program. Harpo is currently staying at the boarding facility where he is recuperating from his ordeal. He has a way to go, but we are confident that this loving boy will soon have a spectacular transformation. He needs time, a lot of TLC and some medical care, but watch him turn into a red hunk now that he is in MPR's caring hands. Poor boy has tested positive for heartworm disease and needs to go through treatment ASAP. Since the treatment requires that the dog be kept calm for 6 weeks, a foster home environment would be much better for Harpo instead of the chaos of kennel life. Please help us help this sweetheart. He needs to know what the good life is all about. It is obvious that he left behind a very hard life and we can only imagine how grateful he will be when someone finally show him what love is all about.
