Arrival Story:
I saw Jesse at the humane society. I had been wanting a dog for a while and finally decided to go see if I find the right one for me. Jesse was in the corner of his cage with his head down and brown eyes looking at everyone that passed by. No one payed any attention to him. If someone came up to his cage and attempted to get his attention he didn't even life his head. I met Jesse in the meeting room and I fell in love. The next day we went back to get him. My sister ran ahead to take a look and Jesse was sitting there just like before and had no reaction. When he heard my voice but did not see me, my sister said that he stood up and started looking for me. I knew then we were meant for each other. I took him home with me April 24, 2008 and he is my best friend. Jesse was very fearful of strangers and was very stubborn in the beginning. I dedicated 100% of my time training him and teaching him to be a good dog. Today Jesse is a therapy dog. He visits senior centers, nursing homes and elementary schools. Jesse loves life and I believe that in return for saving his, he now lives to protect mine.
