Arrival Story:
Ben was abandoned by his owner around the age of three at a house that my sister had purchased. She was unaware that he was there until she moved in. She asked us if we could take him in since at the time she had three dogs and our dog of fourteen years had recently passed away. Because of the poor condition he was in, she didn't even bother trying to contact his previous owner. She figured he would be much better off without them. When we first got Ben he was highly sensitive to loud noises and people. He reacted funny to touch and had the traits of a dog who had spent most of his life in a crate. It has been about five years since we got him and he has definitely come a long way. He is still afraid of a few things, like rain and some loud noises, but he now responds differently to affection and touch. Today Ben is a sweet dog with a few quirks, but he loves meeting new people and any calm dogs.

Today is cold day. I hates cold days. When its cold all I wanz to do it sleep under my blankets. When my humins are gone, I poke my nose under my blankets and I throws dem ovur my head. Den I walk in circle till I'm all covers up. Dis winter I tink I will ask fur breakfast in bed. Dat wuld be nice!
