Birthday:
August 1st 2001

Likes:
Penny loves treats, tug of war, and playing catch with daddy

Pet-Peeves:
She does not like when Oreo (our cat) comes down the stairs. She thinks Oreo is going to eat her bone. Penny is very protective of her bones.

Favorite Toy:
Green teddy bear that she destroyed. It is currently hanging on by threads.

Favorite Food:
Penny loves popcorn.

Favorite Walk:
Dog parks, when we take her. We stopped taking her because she would run her paws raw. I had to bandage them with gauze a few times. She likes bandaids because she gets attention.

Best Tricks:
Jumping super high and catching

Arrival Story:
My husband wanted a dog really bad. He asked me if I wanted one and I told him not until we get a bigger house and yard for a dog. At the time, we were in a very small two bedroom townhome with virtually no yard. A couple days before Christmas, Tony asked me if I wanted to go for a ride and just look at some dogs. I said once I see a dog, I will fall in love with it and want it. He said, come on, just come with me and let's look. He promised we wouldn't adopt a dog, unless I wanted one. So feeling like I was in control . . . we walk into this farm and the owners walked us in the back of the farm where they had a very large kennel of puppies running around. All the dogs were so cute. All these German Shorthaired Pointers were sleeping on top of each other. When we walked in, all but one scattered and jumped at the high fence. There one dog at the bottom of the pile was still sleeping. Of course, that was Penny. She slowly walked up to the fence and reached her paw out. I loved her instantly. It was a very cold winter day in December when we adopted Penny. So, not knowing we were getting a dog, I had her wrapped up in my coat so she could stay warm. We brought her home and tried to figure out a name for her. At first we called her Sam, short for Samantha, but the name never seemed to fit her. Then Tony said it looked like she had a little Penny on her head, so that's how she got her name. WE LOVE PENNY! We
