Momma brought me to a sniffy place again yesterday. She says it was the same one, but I don't believe her. They were all new sniffs! I couldn't sniff that I had ever been there before, so how could it be the same place? Momma says its just cause we used a different entrance, and explored a different part of the area, but doesn't that make it a different place?
The first silly thing that momma did was get all gushy over me after some people went by on machines - ATVs is what momma called them. When we heard them coming, we moved to the side of the trail, and she had me sit. As they went past, I didn't bark or lunge or even move at all. Momma thought that was extra special.
Then, further on in the woods, there was a shiny thing blowing around in the brush. Momma says it was a mylar balloon that was tangled in the brush. At first, I didn't want to walk past it, but I quickly got brave enough to go past because I wanted to keep exploring. But then, when I wanted to go home, momma made me go past it again. I really wanted to run in the other direction, but she said no, and kept walking. Eventually, I had no choice so I ran past it real fast. And momma kept calling me a silly beastie, but hey, it looked like it was from outer space!
Finally, I was pooped and ready to go home. So I led momma back to the car. She opened the door and said, "Hup," and I jumped right in. That must have been a REALLY good thing to do, because the treats and pats and scritches and praises started raining down from heaven. Momma better not think that I'm going to be like that all the time - I don't like the car, and that's that! But I do understand that sometimes - like when I'm ready to go home from the sniffy place - I have to ride in the car to get there.
Yup, pawrents are super silly!
