Angel Wilma

I unfortunately had to put Wilma to sleep yesterday, 4/23/12, at 3:20pm. Its the hardest thing Ive ever had to do. I have had Wilma for 15 yrs and she has been the most perfect dog her whole life. She has always been a sweetheart of a dog, never bothered or hurt anybody her whole life. I owe her alot because she was so smart and she helped raise Mable and Bumble to be good dogs and taught them her behaviors. She had loved to swim in the pool and chase tennis balls, she would run and catch the ball and bring it back to me so that I could throw it again. That trait she taught onto Bumble and Mable (who is still learning). She had been diagnosed with renal failure back in August and dealt with it like a trooper. Her body was just giving out and it was hard to see her suffer. She never acted sad, she always gave it her all and tried to act happy and peppy, even if her back legs were giving out. She will still try to run with Bumble and Mable and act like a pup. She was very achy and I had her on a pain med for that and tried to help her as much as I could so her back legs wouldnt give out. She had lost control of her urine and most recently her stools, which we dealt with and just cleaned up. She couldnt help it and we understood. It took her along time to get up and she just looked so painful while walking. The stool would just fall out of her while walking or even sleeping in her bed it would just come out. She has always been such a special dog and my best friend and I know that she was suffering now so I made the decision to put her at rest. I hope I did the right thing. I miss her so much and I hope she still loves me. I know time will heal the pain but for now it sucks. Thank you to everyone who sent kind words and sent us zealie gifts. Wilma was wagging her tail the whole time she was being put down, she was a sweetheart till the end.... I miss you baby girl and love you very much!!!!!

Had to go see the vet today

We all had a great time at the beach for 2 weeks but since we've been home alot of bad stuff has been happening. First, Bumble chewed and ate a flannel comforter, she got really sick and almost had to have surgery to get it out. Luckily, he threw it up and pooped the rest of it out so no surgery needed! Then, Mable got sick, we thought she got into something but the xrays show that there wasnt any obstruction in her belly. So now we are doing bloodwork and other tests to see what is making her sick. She is doing alittle better but every once in awhile she will throw up or have the runs. Then Sunday I woke up not feeling good and mom thought I might have a starting of a uti. So we went to the vets today and the vet called us back in because they wanted to run more bloodwork and do another urine test on me. I dont have a uti but possibly the starting of renal failure:( Mom is so sad and upset over this, to have all 3 dogs so sick all at once is a bit much for her. We have to wait and see how the results come back from the vet tommarrow. Hopefully I will be alright:( Im gonna cuddle with mom all night and hope this is a bad dream. Love, Wilma

Pool time

Woohoo! Today was a gorgeous day out so mom let us all play in our pool:) Mom was very happy to see me running around and frolicking like I was a youngin' again. She knows I will probably be lame tonight and need ben gay:) But it was fun to run with my bro and sis. I love the water and we had so much fun. We got all dirty and smelly so mom had to give us all baths after, but it was worth it. Now Im going to rest and catch up on my zzzzz's and hopefully wont be sore in the morning! Love, Wilma

Spring please hurry up and come here

I know Im an old girl and all I do is basically sleep all day but I do like a nice romp out in the green grass once in awhile. Of course I usually need a nice ben gay rub down after that but its all good:) I can still keep up with my bro and sis when we are outside running around chasing the tennis balls. Mom knows my limits and gives me a time out when I need it, my heart is still young, just not my body:) Well, gonna go back to sleep now all this typing is making me sleepy. Love, Ol lady Wilma

Im Home

I made it through another vacation:) Im not as young as my bro and sis are and with all the frolicking at the beach and walking and running, Im pooped! Mom let me sleep in the camper with the air conditioner on alot but I did get up early in the mornings and run alittle on the beach with Bumble and Mable. I cant keep up with them like I use to, but I still try. Mom and dad even brought my cart camping with them. Dad pulls me in the cart behind his bike since I cant walk as far as I use too. Mable even got in the cart with me once in awhile, we felt like princesses:) Well, got lots of sleep to catch up on, Nite for now, Love, Wilma

Got wheels?

My brothers and sister are barking for sun, so I figured since I have wheels, we can drive to where the sun is. Anybody out there have some sun? We have had rain for almost 2 weeks now and we are ready for a nice long run somewhere. Got wheels will travel, Love Wilma

I'm 12 yrs old today!

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me! I cant believe I am 12 yrs old today. My mom said we are still gonna have a party for me even though it is raining. My other fur friends are going to come over and hopefully we can still play outside. Happy Birthday to me:)

Well, I made it to 12 yrs old today:) I've had a great life and lots of good memories. My ol' bones ache now and I cant run like I use to, but I sleep real good and still love to eat. I just have to eat special food that my mom gives me and take tons of medicine, it keeps me young and feeling good so I will take it:) I heard mom talking about throwing me a party with my friends to come over. I better rest up for it! Its naptime now, gotta rest for my big day.....bye for now. Love, Wilma the birthday girl

I'm an older girl so their is plenty of things I can tell you about what I like in life:

1. I love my family the most, I get along perfectly with any animal my mom brings home.

2. I love sleeping, especially in the sun-it feels good on my old bones.

3. Going for rides in the car and hopefully ending up at the beach and camping.

4. I love food but mom keeps an eye on what I eat cuz I have a skin problem and allergies.

5. I love splashing around in the pool with my brother Bumble.
