Arrival Story:
We were half-way looking for a doggie when we found Shiba Leah. We wanted a Shiba Inu, and found this little baby for sale the day after Christmas. We just knew it was love when she tried to chew up my purse first thing. We've been family ever since!

Bio:
Ok, we found out through the Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue that our poor baby was a puppy mill kid. She's always told me she had a "ruff" childhood. Now we know where her uncle is, though, so we're very happy that more of the family is known. Shiba Leah currently resides at her grandparents' house in southern Indiana with her mommy. Temporary setback, mommy says, until employment leads to a fabulous new residence. She keeps busy these days trying not to eat her grandmom's cat or harass Rosie, the 15 year old Aussie mix.

Forums Motto:
Life's ruff, play hard.

The World According to Shiba Leah

Mutt Strutt

I had a fun weekend. We went to the Indianapolis Mutt Strutt. I got to ride up with another Shiba Inu, Roxy. I guess we really are friends now. Check out our pictures!

Oh, mom said I might get a new brother soon. I think I'm excited, but I'll have to hide my bones.

Big changes!!!

Well, Mommy's finally graduating from college now. I don't know what that means, but I think it means that we get to move out of the place with all the loud people that are all mommy's age and she'll stop coming home really late at night. Mom said that as soon as she gets a job we're going to move. I don't like moving. They put all my stuff in boxes and I can't get to it for like two days. I don't understand why mom needs another job anyways, she already has two.

I also went to my new daycare last week. It's called the DogHouse. It's nice because they have couches we can sit on and a big TV to watch. They also have grass in their yard outside, and I really like that because I can eat as much grass as I want. Mom won't let me do that.

My temporary foster brother Skyler got adopted. He moved to Chicago. Mom was sad because she said we wouldn't get to see him anymore, but was happy he got such a great family. She said we could still email them.

Oh, and the best thing is I got new food. It's Eaglepack. Mom said the expensive fancy stuff like that is best. I think so because I haven't had any of my allergies since I got on it.

Ok, I need to go. It's finals week and mom needs the computer. Woof!!

SNOW!!! Big, white, fuffy amounts of SNOW!!

Mom TOTALLY didn't tell me it was going to snow today. I should have guessed by the way she was loading up the trunk of our car with the big bags of stuff that she said I couldn't dig in, but I really had no idea. Anyways, mom woke me up this morning to go potty and I couldn't believe it. Everything was covered in snow. At first I didn't remember what it was and was a little unsure about it, but then mom let me off my leash and I took off! I ran and ran through the courtyard as fast as I could. I ran and then I bit it, too. I like to bite snow.
So mommy had to catch the bus for work, so now I'm just hanging out at the apartment waiting. Aunt Meri's going to come over later because she's going to stay with us for the next couple of days and then we all get to go "home" for Christmas. Mommy said grandmom bought me WAY too much stuff. I'm being an impatient dog because I get to spend a lot of time with daddy when we get home, too. Oh yeah, that reminds me. Daddy bought a new truck. This truck has seats in the back that fold up so my bed fits in it and the windows in the back open so I can sniff. I LOVE it.
