Arrival Story:
I had been searching for months for what kind of dog would be perfect for me at this time in my life. I'm a senior in college, still living on the rural farm I grew up on, but will be graduating and going on to vet/graduate school next year. I've always liked big, hearty, lovable dogs, but knew that a lab or golden wouldn't be happy cooped up all day during the time I'm away at class or work. I needed a dog that would be versatile and fit my free-spirited, sponanteous, nature-loving personality, yet be very smart and tolerable at the same time. I had to have a dog that could hold it's own on a farm, but also be happy in an apartment. Although I typically adopt, I knew that wouldn't necessarily work this time. I had to find exactly what I wanted. During the months of searching, I came across the Wheatens...and fell in love! I searched far and wide for someone who had them that was not a quick-breeder, puppy mill, and definitely not a pet store...and I found just that! A small farm in Missouri had three puppies left, and Sadie was one of them! I fell in love with her and spent a whole day driving from my Indiana farm nearly all the way through Missouri to pick her up and spent the rest of my spring break bonding with her!
