ALL ABOUT BELLE!!

First dairy... about me!!!

My name is Princess Belle. My mommy got my name form the movie Beauty and the Beast. I am now 8 months old. I was born on May 1,2008. Mommy says I am a very special puppy. Sometimes she calls me miricle. When I first got adopted I was only 6 weeks old. Mommy didn't know any better but now she knows that 6 weeks was way to early to to take me aways form my dog mom. Maybe if the mean breeder lady would have let me stay longer with my dog mom then I wouldn't have these problems. Anyways mommy got me on a Friday and took me to my first vet appt. on the Monday after. Diagnosis=heart murmor..... luckily that cleared up as I got older, so that means no heat surgery for me. The days went by and all I liked to do was sleep I was not a very playful pup. Mommy and my family knew there was something wrong but vet appt. after vet appt. they determined there was nothing wrong. They said that I was just a very sleepy puppy. In October 2008 mommy realized blood in my pee pee thank goodness for puppy pads other wise we would have never known what was about to happen. Well after a few weeks of antibiotics and a not clearing up bladder infection my vet decided to send my urine off to a lab. About a week after that mommy had to bring me in to the vet because I was very sick. I was having seziures, I was very disoriented, I was drooling, and I wouldn't eat. Mommy was soo upset a rushed me to the vet. That was when she determined that I had a LIVER SHUNT!!!! Mommy cried and cried but she took me to the LSU vet school which was about an hour and a half form our house where they confirmed that I had a liver shunt........... Mommy was sad but they gave her the option of a very expensive surgery and she accepted in a heart beat. Mommy and my future daddy came visit me many times when I was in the hospital. They finally got to take me home!!!! Everyone was sooooo happy!!!!! My surgery was a huge successs !! I am now a wild child... I love to play and have fun. They also put me on this delicious low protein food that is making me gain all my weigth back. On another note though.. I just found out that I have leg calve perthes and I have to have another surgery...... Im sad about that but mommy is taking me to LSU Wednesday to see what they say... I love my vets at LSU and I know they will take good care of me no matter what happens.....
