Bio:
Hi my name is Daisy and I am a dog LOVER!!! My puppy Teddy died recently of Parvo. I did everything I could but in the end Parvo won the battle and killed my baby Teddy. I am currently unemployed because I was working through a temp agency and my contract ended. When I took my dog to urgent care they told me I would have to leave him for 3 days at the animal hospital which wouldve came up to about $1500.00, that had to be paid up front. I love my dog very much and he meant the world to me and when I was unable to pay depression hit which I am sure Teddy picked up that energy. If they wouldve accepted payment methods, there is no doubt I would've put him on intensive care treatment! Now what I am asking is help to start a Parvo awareness campaign and petition for more animal hospitals to accept payment methods because not everyone has the resources to pay up front. Not only that but no one thinks of going to the ASPCA for financial help in an emergency case you are at a blank and just want the vets to help your pet. Not many people in low income communities know about financial help for animal care. What broke my heart even more was when the vet told me that if I couldn't afford a dog I should've never got one. I didn't think my dog would get struck with such a serious illness and my contract at work ended without me knowing the time frame. Then to make it worse he tells me that its very common in Latino communities for a person not to be able to take care of their animal. Come on just because someone is low income does not mean we are not willing to do whatever it takes for our pet, they are part of our family for heavens sake! I am asking for any type of help. Whether it's a tip of who to call and get this started or any other ideas, comments, anything that would help me and my cause. Please help!!
