Warning-this is sad :(
We went to a "shelter", really just a house of someone who rescues dogs from the pound.
We saw Liz there, her "owner" said that her and 3 littermates (6 or 8 wks, I don't remember, really young anyway) were dropped off at the pound in the middle of the night, since the pound has no quarantine for new dogs, the puppies got distemper. The pound didn't know it yet and someone adopted Lizzie but brought her back to be put down when they found out she was sick. Then Liz's owner we rescued her and took her home trying to get her well. So we decided to take her home that day, she was shedding fleas like CRAZY, like a mound of dirt on my lap. The first night I slept outside with her, then we decided it was too hot for her outside and let her stay in. My cat, Milo, was suspicious at first but then let her sleep on the couch with him. We had to feed her broth and such with a syringe 4-5 times a day, same with water as she wouldn't drink on her own. We thought she was getting better, but one night when I was gone she started having seizures. We came home and I held her for a long time. When I was outside I saw a lone cloud in the sky shaped like a running dog with wings and a halo.
We thought she was gonna be okay as she seemed better in the morning and almost chased her ball, but then she had like 5 minute seizures less than an hour apart. We decided to take her to the vet to put her down.
