I READ OVER MOMMY'S SHOULDER!

Now that I give Mommy big hugs, sometimes I stand up on the side of her office chair and just stay there. She keeps typing and says I'm reading my own email over her shoulder. She is one funny lady, I can't read! But I enjoy having my head next to hers and she can just lean over and kiss my face. That's the good life and I'm livin' it!

I have learned another trick. Actually, I invented it, Daddy just named it! I have my humans so well trained, lemme tell ya'.

Anyway, I put my paws on the seat in front of Daddy, who is sitting down. I then get my paws on his shoulders and lick his face. I do it to Mommy, too, but she kisses my face so I don't get to lick her! She prefers it that way.

I can't do this with the ladies, they are way too old! But they bend down to kiss my face.

I love it here, we are such an awesome family!

Where do I start???

Bow WOW! I haven’t been online in so long it’s not even funny. First, as mosta my pup pals already know, my Dad had back surgery earlier this year. He’s doing great and he’s been playing with me and Judd and loving every minute of it. No more back pain – YAY DADDY!

Then Mom had to plan for her trip. Mom has this very best friend (Mom and Leslie have been friends for 47 years, since mom was only 13) who lives in California. When they met Mom lived in Chicago. They were pen pals for 7 years before they even MET (Mom lived in Chicago when they started being pen pals), but had so much in common that they stayed friends all these years. It’s a long story (what 47 year friendship ISN’T?) but Leslie’s new roommate said that they hadn’t seen each other in so long (it had been 33 years since they last were in the same room, if you can believe THAT?) so Leslie’s roommate (her name is Stacey) sent my Mom a ticket to go from Florida all the way to California! They camped at the ocean, Mom took some awesome pictures and me and Judd missed her something FIERCE! We were so happy when she came home! Judd was bouncing up and down when she saw Mommy come in the gate! She said she had fun, but she was happy to be back ‘cuz she missed our snuggles and she missed Daddy, too.

Sorry to have to send a group email to all my pup pals, but if you sent me anything in the last week, THANK YOU! Mom's been having computer problems, and she promised me and Judd she'd apologize for any messages or gifts missed. We should be good to go now, at least for the time being!

Ditto for Judd!!

More fun in the yard

Judd actually loves it when I tease her like this to make her chase me. If I don't chase her, she will come up to me. Then we both pee in the same spot (Mom won't video that part!) and we go inside. We cna do that several times a day and I get SO MUCH exercise. Mom can only take a bit of video or the site won't upload it, but we do this about a half dozen times a day, and we love it.

I have posted a new video. When Dad makes his sandwiches for work, I stand right there and what I want is the fresh spinach he puts on his sandwiches. I LOVE raw spinach. The vet said it was okay for me to eat spinach. I am SO Spoiled!!

A NEW GAME

Today Judd and I made up a new game. I need more exercise than Judd, 'cuz I'm just a puppy, and Judd is an older dog, Since she's a retired police dog, she's in good shape, but she doesn't want to run like I do. So we started to play the game Mommy calls "But I really don't want you to chase me." I bug Judd and she chases me about 10 feet, just far enough for me to start on a run around the yard, when I get to Judd again, she chases me another 10 feet until I get into a good run around the yard. Mommy calls them my "rips" because I just run like crazy around the yard. I get plenty of exercise and Judd gets as much as she needs. But she doesn't want to chase me, she just does it to get me out of the way. So Mommy calls it our "But I really DON'T want you to chase me" game! It's fun, we get to be outside running more, and Mommy laughs and laughs. We are having SOOOOO much fun! Mommy says she's gonna get it on video next time we do it.

OUR NEW ADDITION!

WE BROUGHT JUDD HOME!

We brought Judd home yesterday. We left our house at 6 a.m. (yes, I said A.M. as in morning)! Wow! Mommy said she used to get up earlier than that when she went to work. So will Daddy when he goes back to work. We stopped a few times so I could “take care of business” which we all did, truth be told.
Daddy made a solid cutout of the back of the Durango when the seats are down because where the headrests are there are big openings that go all the way to the floor and a puppy could break a leg or get stuck. Then Daddy put a big piece of carpet (6 feet x 8 feet) in a beautiful gray that matches the back of the car and takes up the whole cargo area with just seats for Mommy and Daddy.. We traveled in style! We got to Tallahassee about 1 in the afternoon and met Joe & Nicole at their apartment and they led the way to the ranch.
Daddy got me out of the car and Mommy saw a dog on the porch. A beautiful Rottweiler. It was Judd! Mommy forgot to get Judd’s birthday from Joe so she has to call him and get it before she can set up Judd’s Dogster page. But she took lots of pictures, so stay tuned! There might be a good one of both of us, so check my photos to see the ones Mommy added!
Judd and I get along, but Judd doesn’t like to share her stuff, so she has been growling at me a lot. But I DID roll over and give her my belly, so I guess I did kinda tell her she’s boss. But THAT was when we were at the ranch, which I guess is her turf, even though she'd only been there a week) and I thought it was the friendly thing to do. Then she jumped right up in the car! Joe said she hasn’t jumped like that in a long time. I don't think I would have given her my belly if I knew she was coming WITH us! Humph!
We stopped a few times for us to do our business on the way home, and we got home a little after 9 p.m. WHEW! What a long day. Can’t wait until Mommy gets Judd’s Dogster page up and running!

BOY OH BOY, AM I EVER SPOILED

Well, we have the office set up for Judd's arrival. We put a cover on the couch, so we can both get up on the couch - that's the only piece of furniture we're allowed on! I began snuggling with Mommy up there and it has become our place to brush me, check my ears, brush my teeth, trim my nails and NOW it is the place that I get my massage! Mommy remembered when we had Rottie, who was crippled, that the vet said a massage feels good to dogs. Boy, I am here to tell you, they SURE DO FEEL GOOD! So now that's a part of our routine. We do massages and brushing every day for 15 minutes, and the cosmetic stuff (ears, teeth, nails) once a week. I'm not so fond of brushing my teeth anymore, but Mommy bought me a dental bone that I can chew. And MAN do I ever chew it! She does brush my teeth thoroughly twice a week. They're shiny white! I still don't like it as much, but Mommy's teaching me about something called "compromise" whatever that is, but I get a treat when we're done, so that makes it all okay!

Anyway, wanted to tell you about my massage. Mommy is also talking about us (me and Judd) being therapy dogs, but I have to calm down a little first. I'm still a puppy! Judd is 7 years old, so she might learn first. I'll keep you posted.

Don't know if I told ya' but we had a death in the family this past week. We weren't that close to the person, so we are not so very very sad, but Mommy & Daddy traveled 7 hours one way to support our children. But as a result, we have been offered to take the Rottweiler that was owned by Daddy's son, Joe (his mother died of breast cancer, she was Daddy's ex-wife (aren't humans complicated???)

Anyway, she was taking care of Judd and Joe's apartment is really small and he's already got 3 small dogs. Now Joe knows us all his life, right, so he knows how Mommy & Daddy love to SPOIL their Rottweilers. So he asked Mommy & Daddy if thye wanted her. They said no at first, thinking it would either be hard for the ladies or upset me to have another dog, but when they came home and the vet said I played so well with other dogs, always playing, and then Grandma said I needed a friend, they rethunk their decision and so we're all going back to Tallahassee next weekend to pick up Judd! I am so excited! When I was boarded at the vet's when they went to the funeral, I loved it so much and one of the dogs got out of the kennel and chased me into the waiting room! It was clear she didn't want me to leave. So I make friends easily and Joe said Judd is friendly, too. She only plays a little while, but she's older than me, but not too much (she's 7 years old, but she's also an ex-police dog) so I bet I can bring out her inner puppy! I'll keep you posted, and I'm sure she'll be on Dogster soon!
