Leave a bone for Carson Arrival Story: Carson is a 2 1/2 year old, black and white male. When rescued, he was down to a scrawny 39 lbs, was heartworm positive, and had a case of kennel cough. The kennel cough was tackled first. He took the medicine really well with some nice treats wrapped around them. Now that he is finishing his battle with heartworms, he is up to a healthy looking 50+lbs and full of energy. Carson is very playful but will settle down and watch a TV show with you (especially if you rub his belly).
After getting comfortable, he has become a talker. He has a wide range of woo-woos, especially when you come home from work or are getting a new rawhide from the cabinet. However, I think that he is generally quiet. He has been very polite around young children. He seems mostly indifferent to smaller dogs (one likes to jump up and lick his face, the other just barks at him). Carson is more interested in the people with the dogs.
Carson, like most huskies, has a healthy prey drive, so he pulls when he sees squirrels tempting him. With a few corrections, he has nearly lost interest in the rabbits we encounter on our late night walks. He would be best in a home without a cat.
He is a true joy to watch, and will make you laugh when he stretches. At the end of the backstretch, he will kick each leg out behind him and it appears that he shakes them just a little. He has it all going for him: He is funny, has a great personality, and he is a beautiful dog. (Just wait until you see his magnificent tail!) Bio: If you are interested in adopting Carson, please submit an application through Adopt a Husky of Dallas (http://www.adoptahusky.org). A home check is required through the application process, so if you are outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area, we will work to arrange a home check but may be unable to do so.
