Arrival Story:
I always wanted to adopt a retired racing greyhound, but never had the right space for one. In May of 2003 we moved to a new, bigger house, with a fenced in back yard. It was finally time to adopt a grey. I went to the Jacksonville Kennel Club in Jacksonville, FL to look at the dogs. Moon caught our attention right away. She has the most soulful eyes, and we couldn't resist. We got her in August of 2003, and she has been with us ever since! (Check out November 29, 2010 - Moon crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. She will be missed/gone......... but NEVER forgotten!

Moon's racing career wasn't very stellar, but she is an awesome pet! She was one of 9 puppies, and one of 8 from the litter who survived and raced. We were not her first owner after she left the track, but the previous owner had little kids, and that wasn't such a good idea with a greyhound. She kept thinking they were prey, and wanted to nip them. We don't have babies in this house, and she has warmed up to everyone. Although she's shy, she's the sweetest dog. Moon was welped 9/1/1999 in litter # 83892. Her sire was JC's County Line and her dam was JC's Storm Cloud, originally owned by Gulf & Bay Kennel in the Tampa, Florida area. Her sibs racing names are JC's Sleet Speed, JC's County Sky, JC's Misty Days, JC's Crazy Cary, and JC's Sun Smoke. If any of you are on Dogster, please get in touch!
