Best Tricks:
Mojo is a professional counter surfer and thinks laying on the diningroom table is way cool (she can see out the back window and front window)

Arrival Story:
I decided Brandy dog needed a play mate while I was at work. After growling at all the labs I introduced her to, we finally went to meet Mojo. Since I decided Brandy would never let me get a lab, I settled for black with floppy ears. Brandy like Mojo immediately. I thought she said, "I like her. She'll be a good dog". I later found out what she said was "I like her. She'll make me look good". But it was too late. We already had fallen in love with Mojo and couldn't give her up. Mojo visits the vet often. She fell off a terrace chasing a squirrel (stiches on front leg). Four days later she removed the cone, stitches, and scab (stitches this time). She scratched the cornea of her eye diving for a lizard. She punctured her eye and eventually lost the eye (hence the nickname Winkie Mojo). She still won't tell me what she was doing when she got injured. Mojo ran off the deck, whacked her rear paw on the water spigot. That was 3 days before the stitches were to come out from getting her eye removed and resulted in 20 stitches on her paw, wearing the cone for a month and not going on walks for a month. I think she's a little accident prone.

Mojo antics are notorious around the neighborhood. Friend Dave took her to the park to go jogging. He stumbled, looked up and she was gone. She ran home. Another friend (who shall remain nameless) was returning her after dog sitting. He let her out of the car and she immediately ran across the street to chase a cat. Nameless friend chased after her. Mojo play the chase game all the way to the school (not the one close to the house, the other one). She thought it was great. I thought it was hilarious. Nameless friend still doesn't think it's funny and it happend years ago. She has moved things around in the backyard to use to launch herself over the fence to go play with the neighbors when a dog sitter did not properly exercise her. Neighbor put her back in my backyard twice, and she jumped the fence two more times. He finally put her in the backyard with his 4 year old granddaughter. They were both very happy.

We've had a rough month. On May 1st, Mojo and I were leaving a friend's house. My friend opened the front door as I opened the car dorr for her to jump into it. Nope, down the driveway and across the street she went. Made a u-turn and headed back. She got hit by an SUV!

I thought she was dead. I heard this pitiful scream come out of her and saw her under the SUV. She ran into the dark trees and I was able to get to her in seconds. My friend went to get my car as I held her. We had her to the emergency vet in about 15-20 minutes. She spent the night there.

To make a long story short, no broken bones, no internal injuries, lost 2 teeth, nasty gash on her snout, staples and stitches in 5 different places and lots of road rash. My babies alive!

After two weeks of seriously restircted activity, she's back to her crazy self.

She will NEVER be off the leash again!

Today is Valentine's Day and Mojo's Birthday. Today she is somewhere between 8 and 10 years old. To celebrate her birthday, we headed to the snow and spent the day snowshoeing. This was a first for both of us, and, luckingly, we both loved it! Mojo spent the day with her two puppy friends, Max and Sasha. All three ran off leash all day long (love those national forests). It was fabulous! We can't wait to go back.
