Arrival Story:
I just started fostering Chito for the Richardson Humane Society out of Richardson, TX. I don't have a whole lot to say about him yet except that he's a young adult chihuahua mix who gets along great with other dogs, but needs some time getting used to new people. My best guess on his other breed is some type of terrier, and he looks like a JRT/chi mix to me. He took to my dogs immediately, but at first he was a little skittish with me. Didn't take him long to warm up to me, but he needs some socialization. So we'll be working on that, and his adopter would need to continue working on this. In addition, he is undergoing heartworm treatment right now, so he will not be available for adoption until early January. After he is cleared of heartworms, he will be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Bio:
The Richardson Humane Society is a non-profit, volunteer foster organization based out of Richardson, TX, a suburb of Dallas. Our adoption area is within 50 miles of specifically Richardson. As cute as Chito and our other dogs are, we would ask that you think about supporting and adopting from rescues closer to you if you are outside that 50 mile radius. Our adoption fee is $150 for dogs, and that covers vaccinations, speutering and microchipping in addition to other needed veterinary care such as heartworm treatment, parasite treatment, etc. All of our animals are up to date on heartworm preventative once they are available for adoption. If you live in our area and cannot adopt at this time, we also would love for you to volunteer with us or foster! Every foster home takes yet one more dog or cat from the shelter and promotes the rescue business of saving lives.
