Arrival Story:
Mom & Dad were looking to get a companion dog for Heidi. They met with another dog from a rescue and I happened to be there. When the rescue came to Mom & Dad's with the other dog, since I hadn't had ANY socialization, the rescue people asked if I could come along too. It turns out the other dog didn't work out well once she met the cats. But I was having a good time with Heidi and was loving these new people, which the rescue people said I hadn't ever done before. So Mom & Dad asked to be able to keep me on a trial basis. Well by the following weekend I had my forever home! Oh yea, and just like Heidi, I didn't meet any of their requirements: female, adult & housebroken and no emotional baggage.

Bio:
I am now over a year old. I was originally bought by an elderly lady who it turns out couldn't take care of me. She would forget to feed me and let me out of my crate, so I never learned to potty train. The elderly lady meant well, but her family had to put her in a home and instead of finding me a new home dumped me in a high kill shelter in another state. Thankfully I was saved by a rescue group, who then sent me to a wonderful couple who fostered me for about 3 weeks. When I came to Mom & Dad, I was just learning to potty train, didn't know what grass was, didn't know how to play either. I had pretty much know a life of crates, cages and kennels. Needless to say, I'm not fond of those things now. I love the fact that Mom & Dad let me run around the kitchen/diningroom without a crate. And to please Mom & Dad (because I really wanted a forever home) I learn to use piddle pads within 24 hours. That's a really big help for me because I absolutely don't like going outside when the tempatures are below 50 degrees and the ground is wet. Mom puts a coat on me, but I must admit, I do growl alittle at her to let her know my displeasure at having to go outside.
