A Monster's Life

Changes

It's been a long time since I've been here. Life has changed a lot since 2009. Mommy and the Boy don't live together anymore. That was hard for me. I love both of them so much and I didn't know why one of them left. They both said it doesn't have anything to do with me, that I am a good boy and they love me very much. That made me feel better. I live with the Boy now still in my home. Mommy comes to visit me sometimes and I get so excited when she walks in the house I jump up into her arms and give her lots and lots of kisses. She is my Mommy no matter how long it is between her visits. I wish I could see her more but I guess that's life. I know she loves me. The Boy loves me too. He's always giving me toys and treats and now that it's spring we are going for more walks. Last winter there was a huge snowstorm and the snow was way over my little head. I love snow but that was a lot even for me! The Boy dug a maze in the back yard though just for me! I loved it! The Boy has a new female in his life and I like her. She's nice and she has a little boy that I can play with although sometimes I just want to be left alone. I'm going to be nine this year and I like my quiet time and my naps. But they are nice and I think I will like living with them as long as they are nice to me and the Boy. I'm little but I will bite anyone who is mean to my Boy or my Mommy!

Life is funny sometimes. It keeps changing and I don't always like that, but then after a while it turns out okay and it's not so bad. As long as I have a basket of toys, my bed with the blanket Mommy knitted for me and a bowl full of food and water I'm happy. It's all good.

A Busy Christmas

Well, Santa Paws was here and he didn't let me down! I got a stuffed duck that quacks when I bite it, a fleecy frisbee, a stuffed puppy dog holding a stocking, a squeaky stuffed snowman, a box of organic cookies, some dental chews, and some homemade treats from my groomer! WOW was it a busy Christmas for me! What a good boy I've been to get so many toys and treats!

Mommy and The Boy were together with me on Christmas morning and we all had so much fun opening all the presents - my tail couldn't stop wagging the whole time! We had a lot of fun!

Then, on Saturday Mommy went out with her human friend Auntie Monique and they got Auntie Monique and Uncle Chris a new puppy! I've missed Talos and Xena so much, and now I have a new friend to love! His name is Brice. He's a Daldoodle - Mommy says that's a Dalmation and a Poodle mix. He's awfully cute. I'm sure he'll have his own Dogster page before long! He's very wiggly and a little hyper for me right now though. He's trying to learn to go pee pee outside - I could show him a thing or two about that! When you go potty outside like a good boy, you get treats!

Mommy's other human friend Auntie Kim was very sad today. Mommy was sad again too. She said Auntie Kim's big dog Panda died yesterday. Panda was an Akita. She was huge compared to me and didn't like little guys like me very much so we never met. But Panda loved Mommy so that made her okay with me. I'm sorry she died, it was very sudden (bloat and a subsequent post operative blood clot) but they say she didn't suffer so that's all we can hope for I guess. Poor Mommy and her human friends. They've all had a lot of sadness over the past couple of months with their doggies. But never fear, I'm happy and healthy and am ready to go another 40 years!!

Happy New Year to all my Dogster pals - I can't wait to see what 2009 is going to bring me!

Sad Winter's Day

Well, just when the sadness of losing Talos was starting to let up, Xena went to join him this morning. Xena is the Dalmation that lived with Talos next door. She was such a pretty girl and so happy. She had a very long life, she was almost 14 so at least she was able to enjoy the long life that Talos couldn't. And now they're together again and I'm sure bounding around in the fields in Heaven. I feel so sad for my friends, they just lost Tay about 3 months ago and now Xena, and 5 days before Christmas. It's definitely not been a good end to this year for them. I got to say goodbye to her as they were getting ready to leave for the vet so I'm glad I gave her one last kiss. Milo sensed it again I think. Right around the time that they were having her put down, he was in the window staring at their house and whining like he knew something wasn't right again. Those two dogs were his best buddies and now they're both gone.
