Arrival Story:
My husband and I have been looking for a dog. We considered adopting one, but my brother introduced me to the Shiba Inu breed. He has a Swedish Vallhund and Cocker Spaniel, but he said that he wished he got a Shiba Inu. So I researched. I read everything on the internet I possibly could. I roamed around Shiba Inu Forums here on Dogster. And then I looked for a reputable breeder. I checked the National Club of Shiba Inu, which led me to Ronin. He came from Minnesota and is now making a home in the SF Bay Area. This Shiba is full of shenanigans!

Name Story:
We knew Shiba Inus originally came from Japan, so we thought it would be a good idea to give him some kind of Japanese connection. We thought of naming him Ryu from famous arcade game Street Fighter, but we didn't want to pronounce it "Ree-you." We wanted to say it "Rye-you." We thought about "Kona," but soon figured it out that is was usually for girls. And then we remembered the Japanese cartoon that was dubbed in English for American television, Ronin Warriors. And that was it! Ronin seemed like a strong name. Ronin, the Warrior Shiba!
