Arrival Story:
for years i had been saying i wanted a little lap dog. first pick was a norwich terrier, too pricey. Then, i decided one day i would probably be happy with a Cairn terrier, but really had no immediate intentions on getting one, as we already had 2 Rotts. When i did get one, i wanted a male, blond puppy and his name would be Simon. On a day trip to Sacramento to a Home Expo, as we rarely go to Sac, we decided after the Home Show to pick 3 pet stores out of the phone book to visit just for fun. Not looking for anything, just like visiting pet stores. The first store we went to had fish, rats, hamsters, etc., and i got to thinking about maybe getting a rat, but decided no. The second store we went into is hard for me to remember because the first thing and only thing i saw was a Wheaton colored Cairn, male puppy. He was mine. I had never seen a Cairn in a pet store in my entire life and haven't seen one since. I believe it was fate!!!

March 16th, "Attitude adjustment"

Poor Simon, Today mom had to take me to the vets for a hopeful "attitude adjustment". Lately, I, Simon, have been a little terror to my little brother (120 lbs) Marcus AKA Mo Mo. For fear of Mo Mo getting tired of putting up with my continuous confrontations, i.e., growling, hackles up, etc., it was decided to alter my appearance? Yes, i had my "Ns" removed. Does that make me a Simo? Mom feels really bad about doing this but i guess i left her with no other recourse. Hopefully, once the testosterone is out of my system i will calm down with my attitude.

New pic, aren't I C-U-T-E!

Mom finally loaded another picture on my page. This is my camping photo at Fort Bragg, Ca. I normally don't do the clothes thing, but it can be a bit chilly on the coast, so I wear a comfy sweater at night for sleeping in. It makes me look like a college yuppie/puppie? I'm atop a picnic table soaking up the sun, Oooh ahhh. Can't wait to get back there again. We go about 3-4 times a year. I can hook you up to all the squirrel holes, I know where all of them are. All for now,

Simon. 01/19/05

Well, i have been here for a few days now and have seen all kinds of interesting dogs with interesting backgrounds. I read my bio info and i was surprised my nickname "grumpy pants" was left out, maybe mom was just being nice. Also, she refers to me as her little hunter (i like that one), as i will go outside, while mom is watching tv. and scavenge for hidden relics in the backyard. When i find something worthy of my standards, rocks, wood, nails, etc., i will pick it up and bring it directly to my mother. She is usually on the couch. I will come and look at her and she will say, What did you find? i then wag, wag, wag my tail and she says, "let me see it. Then i will drop it on the floor and back up so she can see it real good. She will pick it up and make a fuss, just like when a child comes home from school with a picture or something they made that day. (so we have heard because neither of us have children). She then puts it in our collection bowl and then gives me a cookie. Some nights we will go through this scenario 3-4 times, but we both love it.
