Leave a bone for Monsieur Z. Perot

Nicknames: Monsieur Zu Zu

Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Birthday: May 5th 2005
Arrival Story: gift from an old friend.

Bio: He loves being close, playing, ball chasing and talks with many sounds. Very well behaved, protective and non-aggressive when on a lead. Wants to sleep comfortable and covered, but now he has his own comfy bed.
Found out he is positive for heartworms when I took him to get all his vacinations. He will be on the soft treatment for this for 6 months, then I'll see if he needs the IV poisoning phase. He is very outwardly healthy at this point. I mention this, so other owners will get their dogs checked and then keep them on a program of protection/prevention.
Thank you so much for this wonderful dog, he will be well cared for for his many years to come.
A month after Monsieur was hit by a car (this was not very serious, no surgery or caste) his injuried leg became very swollen and floppy. Blood tests and srays showed he had bone cancer in his leg and it was spreading throughout his body. He was on so many drugs to combat the swelling and pain. Vet said he could be kept alive for a little while, but it would be kinder to let him go, so I agreed. He went to sleep on the 25th of May, 09.

This occured at the end of May, on the 25th. He had bone cancer and was so ill, on constant medication for pain and inflamation. His broken leg was not healing, never would and cancer was starting in his lungs. It was so awaful. It is only now that I can write about this terrible journey. I went to Cancun with his air crate to bring him back to TX, instead I returned to TX with a broken heart and empty crate.

Well, I'm back at Nah-hah and all I can do is lay around and carefully go in slow walks.
No running, jumping or excitement. At least I get to bark and have treats. Ow, my back leg is hurting. I don't even get dog toys this week. More later, when I'm not so bummed out.

Have a lot of past data to add since Nov. 08.
But today is not a great Cinco de Mayo for Perot. Friday he got a serious looking injury to back leg and stomach and seemed in to much pain to sit or lie comfortable.
Saturday, his friend, Miguel, took him to the Vet, Claudia, in Playa del Carmen and she put him in her hospital. As of yesterday, he seemed to be improving, but red count was way down and he may need to have his leg Xrayed.
I think perhaps a car or truck hit him. He doesn't seem very aware of getting out of the road when a vehicle is headed in his direction. I'm in TX with my elderly Mom, who just got out of the hospital!
So, send some healing thoughts his way. Thanks. I call the vet tomorrow for another report and if all is better, he will be picked up by Miguel to go home.
