   Leave a bone for Scout

Scouteroo, Pita, Mama's Boy

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:

Scout, being a herding breed, loves to chase and be chased, anytime he gets the chance to herd another dog he has a blast. The best is when both are Aussies' as they both instinctively try to herd each other.

Doesn't like staying in the back of the car where he can't reach us -- If we stop somewhere, he lets at a whining/howl like he's being tortured, because he doesn't want to be left behind

Favorite Toy:
Scout has lots of toys, always hard to say which is his favorite, but if we had to choose it would be the woolly Ginger bread looking doll, or his knot toys

Favorite Food:
Scout likes his treats, he gets all kinds, but his favorite has to be the Peanut Butter biscuits he gets from Trader Joe's

Favorite Walk:
Going to the baylands or going to the coast and chasing birds and dogs along the water.

Best Tricks:
Chill (lay down on your side and stay still), Wave (Lifts paw and does waving motion), Pose (He'll get up on a small item with all four paws -- see picture --)

Arrival Story:
We had a great dog named Jack - sadly, he passed away in Feburary 2004 - he was 16 and 10 months. Jack was an awesome, energetic, fun, people loving dog. He was 1/2 Australian Shepherd and 1/2 Springer Spaniel -- We just knew that an Aussie was the right breed if we were to get another dog -- awesome disposition, good with people, etc.... After 7 months, it was getting lonely and we decided to just 'look' around. After looking through the paper we found a local couple that had a litter of Aussie pups, so we checked it out, but they said they were all taken, but 2 weeks later their ad was back in the paper, though people had said they were going to claim the dogs some never did. We went up to their place and Scout ran up and licked my shoes -- he was the alpha in group. I was sold instantly :)

Another great thing about Scout is he's a real cuddler for a dog. As a pup we trained him to sit in our laps when we sat on the ground. If he's in the mood he'll pick up one of his favorite toys, mossey on over, sit in your lap and get comfortable. It's great!!
