Arrival Story:
My husband and I finally got a house with a fenced in backyard. So naturally, our first thought was: let's get a dog!!! We went down to the mall one Saturday when the local shelter was having an adoption fair. I swear I looked at and spent time with every single dog they had there...twice! Nala wasn't the first or last dog we looked at; she was actually somewhere in the middle. But I kept going back to her. Maybe because most of the other dogs were just so excited to be outside and have a little freedom, that they just pulled at their leash and totally ignored us. But she didn't - when we sat down with her she just curled up next to me and laid her head in my lap. With that, the decision was made, and we are sooo glad we did!
