 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: July 20th 2004
Likes: Phoebe loves to play tug and fetch.

Pet-Peeves: She HATES when I leave the house and don't take her with me. She also dislikes nail clippings, but that's just tough luck.

Favorite Toy: Phoebe's favorite toy was Huckleberry, but Huckleberry still lives in FL with his GiGi (grandma). So now, the ball, the chucker, and I combine to form Phoebe's favorite toy: "the pitching machine."

Favorite Food: Almonds, apples, cheese, steamed carrots, chicken jerky. My dog is very spoiled. I know.

Favorite Walk: She doesn't like to walk. She likes to run, bounce, and frolick to anywhere there are people and/or dogs to play with or squirrels and birds to torment.

Best Tricks: Phoebe has stopped getting the paper for me. It is, apparently, beneath her. She does bring me other things when I request them, though, like my shoes, blankets, towels, anything she can prance around with, really.

Arrival Story: When Samantha died, she left a consuming emptiness in my life. I began looking on Petfinder.com, and soon saw Phoebe's listing. I knew immediately that she was the pup I wanted. I drove 2.5 hours each way in the pouring rain to get Phoebe from the S.O.S. Animal Shelter in Enterprise, AL. She was definitely worth the drive.

Bio: Phoebe is my puppy soul mate. She's a bit of a nutter, but that's part of what makes her so special.
We live in Washington, DC now, and only a few blocks from the nearest doggy gathering place. Phoe loves to sit on the front stoop of our row house and watch the comings and goings of other Capitol Hill residents. She loves walking to the neighborhood businesses with me, too. We both miss Huckleberry so very much, but he just wouldn't be happy in a small apartment; our neighbors would hate his incessant barking; and he would've been a terror at the unfenced dog parks. Luckily, Huck enjoys living with his GiGi in FL.

Forums Motto: Everything has toy possibilities.

We've always known that Phoebe is smart. She knows everyone by name, all her toys by name, and she learns new commands and tricks quickly. But recently, she's gotten much more demonstrative of her know-it-all-ness.
A few weeks ago, Phoebe let herself out of her fully locked crate. I'd always known that she was close to figuring it out, but I never thought she'd *actually* master the skills to unlock the crate door.
This past week, Phoebe has learned a new trick that I suppose could be quite helpful if ever I'm too tired to function properly: she has learned to untie sneakers, take them off my feet, and then remove my socks. (And all without damaging anything.) It's pretty cool, I guess, except that everytime I come home now, she wants to take off my shoes.
Silly puppy, tricks are for Halloween. Speaking of which, Phoebe will be a hyena for Halloween. It requires no costume, thus it is perfect.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN WEEKEND!
